That the 76ers catch the Knicks for the 6th playoff spot. As it seems its a two team race now at 1 and 2 for the top spot between the Celtics and the Bulls. (Both teams hold 4 game leads in the loss column and tiebreakers over the heat so they are virtually LOCKED at #3 because Orlando is not catching them) Because if they see NY in the first round its gonna be a dogfight, and what a letdown it would be if they lost to the KNICKS of all teams in the first round. Those Knick fans are gonna be waiting on Lebron in that series for spurning them, especially since they have Carmello now.

agreed...philly is playing very good ball right now, and i think i would much rather face the knicks than the 76ers. the knicks are massively overrated. they play absolutely no defense, and neither melo nor amare have a great impact on the game without scoring.

I don't see the Knicks beating a good team in 4 out of 7. They have a team than can win on any given night, but the team is extremely flawed.

It is nice to see that Denver is currently a superior team to NY.

Agreed.  The Sixers are a dangerous team.  They probably won't get out of the first round, but I think they'll give one of the big three teams a good run for their money.

Knicks are more dangerous to the Heat then the 76ers.


1)  Melo actually gets up and puts effort into his defense when going against Lebron.

2)  Neither the Heat nor the Knicks have any depth.  Both will use heavy starter minutes.

3)  Neither have a C.

4)  The 76ers do not have an offensive big man to attack the Heat interior weakness like Amare.

5)  The 76ers do not have the leadership and clutchness the Knicks have in Billups. 

6)  The 76ers best offensive players have to go against he Heat's best defenders. 



Mind you neither of these two teams are a threat to the Celtics, but the Knicks match up well against the Heat.

I like the Knicks chances against the Heat. If they can keep the game close, they have 2 of the best clutch finishers in the game with Billups and Melo... vs... well, that's the problem, the Heat aren't clutch.

As of right now, Philly is leading 2 games to 1 in the regular season head-to-head matchup, though New York is a half-game ahead in the Eastern Conference standings as of today.

The 76ers have the tougher schedule leading up into that game seeing as they will have to face each of the top three seeds in the East during these next ten games on the road before playing the New York Knicks one final time  -however-  the New York Knicks play both the Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics during their last two games of the season. I'm not sure how close the race for 1st seed will be by then, however the Knicks might end up in the position where they could influence the final outcome of the top two seeds.

If either one of the top two seeds have already been clinched in the East before the New York Knicks' final two games this season then there is the possibility that the Knicks could head into the playoffs with some momentum, especially if either of the two teams rested their starters during those games.

Miami 2-0 vs. Philly

Offensively the Knicks has the advantage aganist the 76ers.Knicks have three #1's vs Philly having probably three#2's.Defensively i see the 76ers having the advantage.Doug Collins give the 76ers some advantage coaching wise.That series could go the distance easily.Chauncey Billups veteran experience could make a difference in this series.

A Miami and NYK series is another one that could go the distance.Offensively both teams have two player players that can score in bunches.James,Wade-vs-Melo,Amare could cancel each other out in pts with Billups/Douglas being the deciding factors in that series with their production.

Philly vs Heat series...With Philly being a more complete team with a better bench i feel they can and would upset the favorite in this series.If Philly can keep Miami out of their  transition game keeping their turnovers to a minimal and not jackup a lot of three's(Lou Williams)and play good defense it will slow this game down to a half court game most of the series and the Heat have a tough time executing in a half court type game.
