I haven't heard anything about for how long it remains top 10 or top 5 protected. But if it is lifted next year, I had a fun thought when I was just listening to Doc and Austin on ESPN radio. He made some comment like he was going to stay for four years, but nobody buys that. What if Doc stays one more year and then we pick up a high enough pick to get him (whether through trade or otherwise)? I have to admit that I was a huge... H-U-G-E... critic of Doc at the beginning. But now, looking at the NBA and the last few years, I would just as soon have him around in perpetuity. Would he stick around to coach his son?
Just a funny image that popped in my head which I wanted to share.
