Randy misses us haha what do you guys think? On a small contract, maybe I'd take him back if he knows where his role is and doesn't act up again. Here's the link.

Bring him on.

If he acts the way he did last year....Belichick would find a way to flip him for another draft pick.

its a low risk situation, so i say why not? if he starts to pull the same stuff he did last year then Belicheck can trade him.

But, i feel that Moss has eaten alot of humble pie this year so hopefully he will play nice for a season or two.

Will he actually bust his butt off the ball when it isn't a play called for him?

Moss seems to perform well above expectations when he's motivated. If the Patriots signed him he'd be extremely motivated and he'd perform well the first season he's here. Throw him a one year contract and see him tear it up.

You honestly think he'd be happy with a one year vet minimum?

I'm sure he'd say he was, at first. But 3 games in of marginal to good production he'll be whining about the deal and want it reworked to show him respect.

to who?

I'm sure people will be lining up to take him off our hands after how fantastically well that worked out for Minn and TEN last year.

Yes, because as it is he's not going to get a contract that he wants considering he pushed himself out of New England and performed terribly with the teams he played with last season. With a one year contract he'll have a chance to land his last big contract. I'm positive he'd be on his best behavior because of those circumstances.

I would give him a very serious look, especially since he would likely take a cheap contract.

The Pats offense would be explosive, with WRs Moss, Branch and Welker, and TEs Gronk and Hernandez, and RBs Woodhead and whichever rookie is selected (I think BJGE is a FA).

Then why wasn't he on his best behavior in Minn? he didn't have any incentive there after being traded in a contract year with a chance to up his stats?

Nope, he bashed his coach and insulted a local food vendor in such a callas and moronic way that he was cut.

How about Tenn, after being declared nearly untouchable in a contract year by the entire NFL with only one team claiming him? nope, he called up a talk radio station and bashed his head coach.

The man is a narcissist with an inflated view of his role and talents at this juncture of his career. Normal rules do not apply.

 Normal rules do not apply.

Agreed, but he seems to have a ton of respect for BB, so the chances of something like what happened in TEN and MIN happening are slim.  Still a big risk, though, given his personality and decline in on-field production which is why I'm on the fence.  But I think you need to seriously consider it, especially if he comes aboard on the cheap.

To put it in a different light, there are a lot of people who think that getting an outside threat at WR is a big offseason need for the Pats, given what happened against the Jets (I don't hold this view).  If one holds this view, then the answers include (a) signing a FA or (b) trading for one using existing draft picks.  The (b) is certainly a possibility given the Pats haul of picks.  But if you can accomplish the goal with (a), and cheaply (i.e.: by signing Randy Moss), then that means the Pats can still spend draft picks on other positions of need, or (preferably) to draft BPA.

This of course implies one thinks Moss still has what it takes.  As noted above, this is questionable.

I'd definitely take him back. There's basically no risk, we know BB isn't afraid to get rid of him if he acts up. He knows that if he isn't a perfect citizen he's gone, I bet he'd have a huge season if he comes back. Then he can get a bigger payday the next year.

I'm not sticking up for Moss, so don't get me misunderstood. Tennessee and Minnesota were going absolutely nowhere and Moss knew that. Randy Moss is the stereotypical "front-runner" who performs well when he has a good QB throwing to him and a team that's performing well. I think we can all agree with that. As a player, he'd be dynamite here for one year with a great team, a great coach and QB, all of whom he respects the most out of anyone in the league. The Patriots should and probably will take a serious look at him.
