I hope to God that Rondo has a big game tonight. Haters be haters. But if he plays well, we win. If he doesn't, we lose, or struggle. With the exception of only the Bucks walkover.

  • Rondo = Good
The Celtics will need to play much much better than they have been in order to win tonight.  Lately the Pacers have been playing with energy and fire because they are fighting for a playoff spot.  A lackluster effort against this team will not be enough to secure victory.

I'm worried about what Collison will be able to do if Rondo is playing lackadaisically again.

As Rondo goes so goes the Celtics, if Rondo is operating on all cylinders getting the ball where our guys should get it we know what they can do. Rondo has got to lead and wheel us to victory.

For what's it worth , guys, the Celtics have actually only allowed less than 90 points in 4 of their last 5 games, but are sadly 2-3 in that stretch.

They should try to actually score this game, and maybe they'll win. Shocking, I know.  :P

We could use Nate Robinson during this rough stretch.

At least Nate would never be allergic to putting the ball through the hoop like the rest of our team, they seem scared to shoot and score.

No one will ever accuse Nate of being afraid to shoot.  Generally, when he shot, though, the ball wasn't actually going through the hoop.

Exactly, but it would at least show us someone on this team was willing to score, they all seem to not want the ball.

This team reminds of my junior league basketball teams when nobody wanted to shoot the ball and embarass themselves.

Yeah, that's the way to right the ship, offensively.  What this team needs is ballhogs.

Whats worse? A ballhog who can shoot and isnt afraid of shooting, or a team where nobody wants to shoot and would rather have Rondo take jumpers?

I think your missing my point, the point im trying to make is that we need someone who wants to take over. Nobody on this team wants to do that right now, they are content with losing games and letting Rondo embarass himself with jumpshots.

Rondo doesn't take that many shots typically. I agree that his sub-par play has been the primary offensive problme, but its his lack of playmaking thats troubling. Not his jumpshot.

Your right. I dont think the team is helping Rondo much either though. We cant expect Rondo to do everything. Guys need to get open, which they arent right now, they are standing around. Its disgusting actually, they arent helping Rondo, they are just standing there.

We arent playing the Bulls every night, most of the teams we are playing are bad defensive teams yet we make them look like defensive geniuses because our other players arent trying to get the ball or get into position.

Nate Robinson or someone like him would LOVE to get the ball and shoot, he would try to get in a position to score. Our guys right now are content with picking their nails and standing in one spot, watch it carefully tonight.

If you're pining for Nate Robinson I suggest you review the game film of him through most of the year when he was on this team. The results weren't all that pretty for our offense on the aggregate.

Again, not saying we need Nate in particular, im saying we need someone like him, we dont have anyone like that right now, we have a bunch of lethargic, content players with silver spoons in their mouth waiting for the playoffs.

We need a hungry, energetic, spark plug that wants to see the ball go through the hoop every time down the court.

I was hoping Green would be that guy, Krstic seems like he wants the ball, but our team isnt giving it to him, I dont think they realize our center actually has offensive moves yet.

Usually Rondo or Davis provides the "energy" depending on the rotation.

Hustle and energy don't accomplish anything of themselves though, you have to make shots and good plays to win. Nate was full of plenty of hustle and energy. He just didn't do anything good with it most nights.

I think you're going way overboard though. Sometimes guys miss shots or have bad games. That doesn't mean they aren't competing. The C's have fought very hard to come back in each of their recent losses only to fall a little short late when one or two possessions decide the game.
