Utah and Cleveland have 2 picks in the 1st round this year.

Could he play next to Rondo?

No.
He is the same hight as rondo.
he's too short for a 2 guard in the NBA.
He'll have to convert to PG.
He's smaller than derrek Rose bro.

Reminds me of a poor mans joe alexander

I was a Joe Alexander fan out of college, but he is a great deal better than Joe.  Joe had one good collegiate season and was known better for his athleticism.  I don't think Jimmer would fit next to Rondo but he is a much much better player than Joe Alexander

He is better than alexander though.

A recent report said that he would have entered the draft last year if the Celtics gave him a first round promise, and they declined.  I think Danny prefers more athleticism in the back court.

Are you talking about the 6'8" SF/PF who was a great athlete, but not much else?  Because unless you are talking about someone else, I don't see the comparison.

I think the comparison for Fredette would something in between Steph Curry and Dan Dickau.  The question is going to be whether he can defend anyone in the NBA.  Other than that, I have no questions whether he will be a successful offensive player.

A shorter Redick with a better handle?

I find the suggestion that Danny would draft by religion to be at least borderline offensive.   Likewise, the more general complaint that Danny is overinvested in white basketball players.  He may have more credibility as a white guy working with and hiring blacks than anyone on this board, and yet he gets charged with subtle or blatant racism here on a regular basis.

I agree.  I do also think he is more physical than Reddick though, he can also create his own shot better than Reddick.  (maybe not now but coming out of college)

Comon man, Jimmer is from his alma mater which is a 98% morman school, I don't think thats offensive to draw comparisons.

Hope not he wont be a big factor in the pro's.  Best of the best case scenario is Ben Gordon (Bulls era Ben)

Course from where we will be drafting, I wouldnt mind that kind of production, but i wouldnt want to trade up for it

Yeah, I was going to throw Redick out as well.  But I think Curry is a better comparison, because he really is a PG.

As for the suggestions of Danny being interested, regardless of the Mormon thing (which could play a role, when it comes to analyzing his character), Danny has always paid a ton of attention to guys who play out in that area and particularly in the Mountain West.  I can guarantee Danny has scouted this kid more than just about anyone else in the draft, purely because he spends a lot of time out there, and watches their games more than other teams.

The thing is though, I think there is little to no chance Danny uses the Clippers pick to move up to get a guy like that.  I wouldn't be surprised though if a team outright sells the pick (maybe for a future C's pick), the way the Suns did with the Deng pick a few years ago, purely because the draft is so weak overall.

His ceiling is more Mark Price, but with more offensive moves.  Dickau is his floor, imo.

Where is Fredette projected? Late lottery?

A big tournament, and he could move up. How would the Celtics get a chance to draft him?
