Here is a video I shot at tonight's game at New Jersey. I keep the camera trained on Rondo as he sits early in the fourth quarter. Watch as he continues to massage and stretch his right knee -- clearly it is irritating him. Whenever he has to stand, he is visibly limping.

I think he is in rough shape and it has shown over the past few games. Hopefully he can get a bit of time off before the playoffs to heal up.

Rondo this year has been very injury prone, I can see why he doesent penetrate more, but if he isnt going to penetrate he needs to develop a jump shot.

Thanks for the video...doesn't look too promising though, hope it's nothing serious. I wonder why we haven't heard anything about it? It's clearly bothering him.

Would explain his play the past few weeks.

I see. I was also at the game, I was getting food, got back to my seat and just caught Rondo heading to the locker room. Still don't know what actually happened (I did just come back lol), but no doubt I was worried.

If Delonte's really gonna be back Wednesday, then good. Give Rondo some more rest, it's clear between him going to the locker room and that video that this injury is bothering him, and I can understand why he's not willing to go to the hoop as much.

If you are injured, DON'T PLAY. You're hurting yourself and your team by trying to prove someting to yourself.
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Just making excuses for Rondo.  Doc said he wasn't hurt and if he is he shouldn't be playing.

Lol, so true. Not sure why so many are so in love with Rondo.

For what it's worth, I remember Rondo coming back for a game then missing the next few with that ankle injury this season.

Again, maybe he doesn't miss any, but WHY did he have to go back to the locker room? Does ANYONE know?

I think averaging a trple double in 2 playoff series two years ago and then destroying the Cavs single handedly (when the Cavs were favored to win the East) last year might have something to do with it...

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I cant see much in the video as far as 'evidence' goes.
He walks like a hobbled geriatric 24/7 anyway so nothing in this vid seems out of the ordinary to me.
I hope you are right though and he has a slight injury to excuse his play lately.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Not crazy about the video.  These guys get sore and banged up all the time, he might be a little hurt, but it won't be a huge deal or they would reast him, which I think they should do for a long weekend or something anyway.  Hold him out of a game or two and give him some time to rest the bumps and bruises.  That's really important for smaller, quicker guys to get their feet back under them and that first step and speed back.

Also, a quick point on the Rondo haters.  Every player in the NBA has strengths and weaknesses.  No, Rondo is not a great shooter, but it just seems like he has a bad game and people harp on it, and when he has a good game, people call him great.  Rondo is a great, YOUNG player.  He is going to be inconsistant, he is going to be eratic, and he is going to have some tough games.  He is an extremely unique player and the Celtics are VERY lucky to have him.
