Shooting is all about practice and repetition. I'm sick in tired of this excuse, oh he has a freakishly long wing span and large hands and it makes him difficult to shoot.  I don't buy it.  Not when there are bigs in this league that can step outside and shoot the 3 ball. They have huge hands too.  I can't say for certain, but to me, I honestly wonder if Rondo even works on his jumper.  Shawn Marion has an ugly shot, but it goes in, same with Kevin Martin.  They're both unorthodox shooting forms but they go in because they probably get a lot of shots up in the gym.  Larry Bird shot with his elbow out.  Everyone that has played basketball has told you to keep your elbow in, but if you shoot so much a certain way, you'll hit shots.

I'm just beginning to think Rondo doesn't put up enough shots during the day. Rondo doesn't even need to have a 3 point shot, he just needs to be able to hit a mid range jump shot, and he struggles to do so on a consistent basis.

Do you ever play basketball? If so, how many three pointers would you make out of 20 shots? How many free throws?

OK, lets not go there.  No one wants to hear about anyone elses personal experiences playing basketball in relationship to a professional athlete.

there is a world of difference between larry bird's shooting form and rondo's. bird's elbow was out a little, but then came back underneath the ball as his shot was released.

rondo's jumper looks like some rucker league special that should have been corrected by a responsible coach in middle school or high school.

he could work 2 hours a day on that shot and it won't get much better. practicing bad form over and over is just going to reinforce a bad shot. yeah, he might get comfortable in practice and make some shots, but because his mechanics are so fundamentally flawed, the shot does not hold up under the pressure of game conditions.

No, we can NOT say that.

The guy traded three-pointers over and over again with Kevin Durant in the H.O.R.S.E. contest at NBA All-Star Weekend 2010, and proved quite easily that he can shoot the ball, (granted that was just for "fun").

As far as getting it to go with regularity during games, (along with foul-shots), that's something that will come over time.

Please, never say never ... I've seen way too many people in this life swallow their words over things much more unlikely.

This kid is incredibly talented, and was a huge scorer in high school and college ... let's give him the benefit of the doubt, and be thankful for the gifts he's already sharing with this team!

I don't think he'll ever be able to shoot well. You won't see him in the three point contest.

He could get a little better then he is now. But that's not really all that hard to improve on.

As you noted, there is a huge difference between a game of HORSE and an actual game.  Shoot, in practice, I am betting that Shaq can hit 3 pointers with regularity.  But that is far different than a game.

Even though he can't make FTs?

I bet you he shoots a much higher percentage of FT's in practice too.

Its all about putting the time in the gym . He is a skilled gifted man. He has the tools. He just has to develope them.

Rhondo Sort like Kidd was early on, now he is one of the best marksman in 3 's playing the game.

He has to decide its important to his team .

Rhondo has all the physical gifts and brain IQ.

He maynot be a self starter and might need some guidance.

Somewhere along the line he will be much better, but you have to stay with somebody and not toss them aside and find them on another team 3 years from now scoring 20 points a game .
