  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I noticed that the starting five came out with a serious defensive intensity vs the bucks- almost like it was the playoffs and a really big game.
I was happy to see this but we quickly began turning the ball over a lot and I really noticed how flat KG was early on.
I don't think we had the best game but it was a coming out game for troy murphy and a real confidence booster for him to see the ball go through the hoop.
That being said i think the bucks were simply terrible tonight.
Even though our bench did a good job i think we could've stuck avery bradley and chris johnson out there with erden and harangody and the result would've been similar.

We were good, and they incidentally sucked balls big time.

Murphy's play was a genuine plus--and a relief!

This was a payback game.   We shot abyssmally the first game too.  But our defensive pride came out big time this last game.

Is it just me or would Bogut and Gasol be ringers for a sequel to Quest for Fire?

I think it takes both to come up with the best defensive results in 5,000+ games.

Minimum minutes for the starters, and great defense ... please let's not downplay our wins. People complain about the losses, and then try to rob us of the credit for our wins. I think we've had enough negative to last the rest of the season. ;)

Darnit Bahku, don't you know people that are optimistic about this team arent being realists?  Only those that are negative are looking at things the way that they really are.  You need to start being real.  Didn't we learn anything last year?  Losing games during the middle of the regular season doesnt help this team in the playoffs, they CANNOT flip a switch

Cs played above their "average" in the game.  Just how in the prior two losses they played below their "average".  The truth about this team lies somewhere between the two.

The key thing about last night, though, was the potential spillover effect into tonight's game against NJ.  The starters were able to rest, the bench, which is largely comprised of new guys, got extended playing time together in a real game.  Both of which should help in tonight's effort.
Celtics fan for life.

A little of both. They really sucked, and after the turnover-fest  of the 1st period, we were great.

In fairness to them, however, they 1. just played the night before, 2. in a different time zone, 3. had to travel,4. lost an hour with the clocks moving ahead and 5. played a game with an early start.

You could tell they weren't there mentally, and with us clamping down on D in the first quarter, the game was over before halftime.

i just watched the game again on league pass and agree with
cfans comment in the post aboe...
first quarter was rather terrible (defense was good) rest of the game was gritty, tough and energized defense. Bench did a great job.
Starters got a good rest and we can hopefully ride this steamroller through New Jersey today.

can't wait another 7-8 games when shaq is back and the bench is gelling and has their defense sorted out and has delonte's defense to tighten the snare even more.
Bench mob of krstic, green, baby, delonte and arroyo/murphy is going to be NASTY. If JO can walk by then it's just another major piece of the puzzle.
PLAYOFFS HERE WE COME!

They sucked last night, but the Cs played one of their better games with the new guys. It was a perfect storm.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

either gorman or tommy point or another broadcaster pointed out that the bucks played the night before, and then because of daylight savings and the fact that the game was an early evening game, they had to play a second game in a relatively short amount of time. we've seen how sluggish the celts are on the second of back to backs, but i think the lack of time btwn games really killed the energy in the bucks.

but we still played [dang] good. ive never seen pierce so active and athletic (the dunk, and then the block) since back in the early 2000s.

Without question this was a perfect storm type of game.  Don't read into it much.

Its a little of both.  The C's came out strong, and really cracked down defensively, and they basically broke the Bucks will.

If they had started the game like they did the last couple, I don't think the Bucks would have been nearly as bad, but given how tired they were, they just laid down when they saw the C's were there to play.
