Murphy will have at least until BBD and Shaq returns.

After that, he may have to prove himself - play his way back into the rotation - in practice rather than in games.

With the way the Celtics have been lying to us, I think Murphy still has at least 3-4 games without those two.

He gets at least a month.   He hasn't played prior to signing with us since January.  Give him some time, as long as he can help later in the season I don't care he is as good as Erden was now.

Early returns are that the other 4 of Danny's 5 additions will be a real help.  Not a bad percentage if Murphy doesn't work out.

Although he's been playing real bad as of lately, that's a big IF.

Sounds like the O'Neals are still a ways away.  Would be nice not to have to rush Baby back.  Certainly don't want to wear down KG.

Troy Murphy, a true Boston Celtic:

4 games, 46 minutes, 0-10 FG, 0-5 3FG, 8 REB, 4 AST.

Those are Bosh-like numbers, but he doesn't need 4 games to do it.

Boy, good times...

Sweet, he is averaging a little more that 8 rebounds a game per-48!  ;D

Remind me of Scal.

and people love him

Maybe hes just doing really "intangible" things

p.s. big winner here is BBD, at least he will keep his spot in the second team if/as JO is not back

Last night was the first time watching him shoot I didn't feel that his shot was completely flat. In warm ups he was hitting everything with a little bit of arch on it.

He is a step slow on rotations but I feel like that will improve with time and conditioning.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I remember reading earlier this year that the reason Murphy didn't see playing time in NJ wasn't *solely* because Avery Johnson hated him.  Rather, there was concern that Murphy hadn't fully recovered from injury, and that his legs were shot.

I'm glad Murphy is here, but it's important to remember that he may not be healthy, and he might not get healthy.  It's not clear-cut that this is just a case of rust.  Obviously, the Celtics and Heat were both willing to gamble otherwise, so that weighs in favor of the notion that he'll be a contributor.  However, there's no guarantee that Murphy ever becomes even as good as Mikki Moore for us.

He's been a step slow on rotations for nine years, doubt it will change now....

It took Jeff Green more than 46 minutes of playing time to get comfortable and he's been playing regularly all season (remember how bad he looked the first couple of games?).

Murph has to get back into game shape and learn the C's system at the same time.  He'll be fine.

just what we needed, another big guy who's legs are shot. We can put him on the shelf next to the Oneals. I'm looking forward to signing Greg Oden this summer to a long term deal next.
