Just a lot of problems with this group of guys.
1) Bosh simply plays out of position, though by his comments, seems he is going to attempt to make a change, as well as be assertive...stay tuned.
2) Wade and James are only effective on the fast-break, transition game. Half-court-wise, they aren't very effective.
3) Someone has to step up and assume actual leadership of the team, and someone has to accept taking the backseat. When Boston acquired Garnett & Allen, they changed the landscape of Boston basketball (moreso Garnett), however, the team was and is still led by Paul Pierce. Garnett and Allen accepted this & it's been pretty good sailing ever since.
4) The coach has no control over this team. It's another franchise dictated by its stars. If all three of those guys went to upper management tomorrow and said, "Get rid of this guy", he'd be out the door. I think he is gone after their season concludes.
5) The bench needs to improve. Losing Haslem clearly hurt them, as well. I stated in another thread that I believed outside of 1 or 2 guys, I felt they just threw random parts together just for the sake of having a full roster. They need to really address this issue over the summer.
They, in all likelihood, will not win the NBA championship this season. They've got a lot of firepower with Wade & James. However, the lack of bench, the lack of a real system that utilizes everyone properly and effectively has caught up with them. Give them a good year or two, and they will become the force that everyone thought they could have been this year. You can hate MIA all you want, but they will make sure this ship gets right in the coming years. Just because it probably isn't going to work in their first year together doesn't mean it won't work in 2 or 3 years. There window is much, much larger than what Boston has now, or even when they came together in 2008.
