Number 1 and 2 on that list are also number 1 and 2 on the list for worst contenders against top teams.

Someone explain?
The odds are just based on how much money has already been bet.  What happened over the summer was all the money went on MIA.  Now that the majority of bets were placed, it will be difficult for any team to pass MIA in money/odds.

The current odds don't reflect the actual current sentiment about who should be the favorites.
Its based more on how they percieve the public will bet than the actual chances of a team. Though that still does play a part, they don't want to get killed if they incorrectly rate a team as a long shot (20 : 1 or something)

LA 2nd, BOS 3rd, SA 4th

Are these real threads, or is someone just trying to drum up traffic to an online gambling site?

Umm i didnt link a page to sign up for the site, i linked the page where u can click to see the odds like i did. I simply wanted to know how people felt about the odds vegas has and see if people felt the way i do.

As far as my input goes, I think Boston is the clear cut favorite when healthy, and although i hate to say it, right now, you cant bet against LA because they find ways to win, whether its with the help of zebras or not, they have 2 straight rings to show. :/

I dont understand why people say Miami has "a ton of talent"

They have 2 guys, a soft bosh and a bunch of scrubs.

2 guys arent going to win you anything. You need a complete roster.

LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Haslem, Miller are all talented players.

Dampier, Big Z, House, Chalmers are all average to below average players. Not scrubs.

Miami is a talented team..but not a cohesive or an intelligent team.

There is no way they turn this around.  I don't think anyone was crying after the loss.  I think it was the coach trying to save face.  You have three guys that don't have a clue how to play off one another or on a team.  Yes, they put on a bunch of stats but when games matter they don't win.  They have no closer. All three need to ball to play and they added a another ball dominant PG.  The worst is yet to come.  No Bigs.  Their Coach is a complete joke.  LESSON LEARNED - let GMs put together teams not players.

All that book is trying to take people's money. Here are the real odds and they are second to win on them, LA is one.

Only fools will bet on the HEAT.  World is full of them so there will be plenty of people betting on them.

Just like Cleveland was favored for the past 2 years? And Detroit for the 4 years prior? And New Jersey for the past couple before that?

Sorry but that IS a scrub.

He plays for MIAMI.

He has played 36 games this season..avg. 15.9 minutes per game, attempts 1.6 shots a game with FG% that equals .614...he also gets 3.2 rebounds in those minutes...not stellar numbers...but you have to remember he plays for a team that has LeBron and Wade...two ball hogs.

Mike Miller - a career 13.4 ppg player - is avg. just 6.1...are you going to call him a scrub as well?

EDIT: Take a look at Dampier's shot attempts in the last five games.

FGM-FGA
0    0
0    0
3    3
2    3
2    2

How do you expect someone to score without attempting more that 1 or 2 shots a game? Besides, he wasn't signed by Miami to help their offense. Dampier is an average role player right now...not a star...but he is no scrub either.

They are what they play like.

Outside of Wade/LeBron/Bosh all of Miami heats other players have played like scrubs.

Whens the last time Eddie House got minutes? Celtics traded him for Nate and then let Nate go because hes terrible.

Dampier wouldnt be in the league if Haslem didnt get injured.

Big Z sucks.

Mike Miller hasnt even been decent all year.

Chalmers? Lol.

Arroyo was their starting PG and is 3rd string on the Celtics.

Haslem hasnt played all season.

Sorry, but the Heat, outside of their Big 3, are scrubs.

Proof is in the pudding.

Alright...I guess I have to take your word. You called Krstic a scrub less than two weeks ago...so, I'm not sure if you know what scrub means.

Nah I'd call him under-used.

Wade and LeBron would rather pass to each other which is great in transition but in the half-court all it does is allow the defense to reset and then they just dominate the ball until they see a shot.  They should run a real offense and find the open shooters instead (House, Jones, and Miller are among the best).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

They are a team of has-beens & scrubs to be more accurate. They picked up Juwan Howard, Stackhouse, Dampier, Big Z, &bBibby cause they couldn't win anywhere else in their career so they had to tag on to the coat tails of 3 talented players for scrub money. In fact, Bibby got traded from a team that will probably be a 5 or 6 seed in the playoffs because he's used up like one of Charlie Sheen's goddesses. The only disagreement I have is with Haslem--the guy's effort is worth something.

All of the heat players besides the Big 3 are scrubs. Tell me im wrong, and why im wrong.

Dampier averages 2 points a game. The post above me nailed it.

Heat role-players and bench are washed up, has-beens, and scrubs.

End of story. The stats prove it and so does their play.

ESPN rumors IMHO
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;
