Tim Legler called out Spoelstra (sort of) saying that he (Legler) would coach the messiah differently....LOL...

What makes Legler think that anybody could coach the messiah? He clearly does whatever he wants on the court and always has.

Riley, Jackson, Brown Rivers Popovich....etc....Might be able to coach the other guys on the roster...But nobody is going to tell the messiah how to play.  The messiah thinks he's smarter than any coach.  Stern agrees.

Spoelstra is no less a figurehead than Riley or Jackson would be.

I've felt since the beginning that Riley has been setting up Spoelstra to be the fall guy all along, whether that means he gets fired during this season or this offseason.  I think Riley knew that this team would have growing pains and potentially not be good enough to win this year.  Rather than sitting through it himself, I think he left it to Erik to take the fall.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him fired this year or this summer.

I wonder if this Heat team/players/egos need to experience failure in the playoffs in order to be receptive to a coach.  Perhaps they need to learn by experience that they can't win a title with their talent alone before they'll heed the wisdom of a coach - ANY coach.

Thoughts?

Great great point
The thinking is that with a better coach, Lebron would change his tune. I don't think this is going to happen. Whether its Riley or Jackson if he leaves the Lakers, it would not help one bit. Member Paul Silas was the coach for Lebron's early years and Lebron undermined him and did things his own way. It also shows in his unwillingness to improve his overall game. He still has no mid-range game, consistent 3 point shot, post moves, etc. He is who he is and thinks he is above any teaching....

I hope he does get fired.  Best thing that could happen to the guy.  He needs a fresh start, whether it be as the head of one of the league's lower tiered teams or jumping on as an assistant on a contender.  Too much scrutinization on him as a coach with that group.  Obviously, it was a given, but still...  He must feel as if he is walking on egg-shells.  How does he sleep at night?!

It still mindboggles me that LBJ has no solid post game... Just mindboggles me.
