oh [dang], well then i'd have to see who was available before I thought about cuttin him
Nah, you can't cut Bradley at this point for anybody who would be available. Aside from Rondo and Green if he sticks around, he's the only player on the roster who could be an asset in the future. It's not worth giving up that opportunity to upgrade the 15th man on the roster - keep in mind that he wouldn't even be playing if we had 12 healthy bodies.
Tangent aside, I agree with your overall point - Green is a great fit for this team and gives us a dimension that we don't otherwise have. As he acclimates himself to our system and our players, he'll be important for us.
The guy is better offensively than Perk, but enough with the Perk bashing. Perk proved to be a championship-level starting center.
And besides, there are few centers in the league with range on their shot, especially non-European one's.
But people underestimated how much Krstic could help this team when Perk was traded. Give him another month to learn the defense and get help from KG, Doc, and Frank, and he should be a legit option if we need to call his number in the playoffs.
Nobody's bashing Perk. Given Perk's current state of health, the honest truth is that three months of Krstic is likely to be more valuable than three months of Perk. I don't think anybody actually thinks Krstic is a better player than Perkins when both are healthy, but Krstic is and Perk is not. That sucks, but it's true.
Also, there are more centers with range in this league than you think. If you go through the good centers in the league, slightly more than half will take and hit a midrange jumper when given the opportunity. There are few who have three-point range, but the midrange shot is actually not all that rare among centers nowadays.
