Keepers:

PP
KG
RA
Rondo
Green - RFA - Definitely re-sign - No brainer
Bradley
1st round pick
2nd round pick

Probable - All are FA:

Kristic - Defininely re-sign - Big Man - Enough said
Murphy - Defininely re-sign - Big Man - Enough said
DW - Plays 1 & 2
Sasha - Plays 2 & 3
Arroyo - Back-up PG's are hard to find

Gone:

Wafer - Only plays one position

On the bubble - One of these will go:

BBD - FA - it's all a matter of $ and years
Shaq - retire due to injuries - maybe
Shaq - trade as expiring contract - i doubt
JO - retire due to injuries - maybe
JO - trade as expiring contract - maybe

Well, it looks like some tough choices will have to be made.

If the rules stand mostly as they are in terms of the MLE and LLE, we have some holes to fill with them.  Murphy will require MLE to keep since he was just signed as a FA and there are no Bird rights, and frankly we'd be better off using it on Dalembert or Ty Chandler if we're lucky enough to have that opportunity.

Look for Danny to consider giving BBD close to MLE-level money simply by virtue of his health, proven rotation worthiness, ability to fill in at 4 and 5 as a backup, and because we need to use the MLE on another player.
Of course, I don't think BBD is worth that much, but it may take that to lock him in.

I think that sums up the BBD situation.  C's have a lot of holes to fill potentially and they'll be able to keep BBD without needing to dip into the MLE to do so.

I'm not so sure West can be kept nor that Wafer will be let go.  Of that Murphy will necessarily be kept.

If Murphy pans out and Shaq can and will play next year, BBD may be moved in a S&T to fill a couple of holes at the wing and backup PG.  C's would probably use the MLE for a solid big man for the bench that can stay healthy.

Hmm...Perhaps if Arroyo works out as a good backup PG, he'd stay for the LLE.  After all, he did take the minimum in Miami, right?  If not, I'd say that TJ Ford or even Telfair would be adequate backup PG's who are likely to take the LLE.

With the trade, we have Bird rights on Curly, who looks quite servicable at the 5.

So the ticket might be to get enough buy-in from BBD and Curly so that they are eager to resign in Boston for a combined figure that works, say $5 million each per season or $10 combined any way that works, with the MLE going to Dalembert if he'd take it or another true Center.

If only it were that easy...

JO and Shaq...not reliable this year, wouldn't count on either for next year.

We won't sign our first rnd pick in 2011, the first 2 years must be guaranteed, this will ruin the 2012 plan, so Ainge will likely trade it for an early 2nd (31st) or IMO send Daniels TPE and our 1st pick to the rockets for Terrence Williams.
Try to keep Green, resign krstic and keep Ray and Shaq.
IMO Shaq will stay and be 3rd string center, and be in shape for the playoffs, jermaine if healthy is still solid.

rondo/bradley
ray/twill
pierce/green
kg/Kmart one year MLE
krstic/jo/shaq
+ 2nd rnd pick
free agents available, jj barea, telfair,tj ford
one of the above, if not resign delonte west for cheap, also marquis daniels should be an option.
Pryzbilla,Nazr could be cheap vet minimum centers. Kenyon Martin should be offered MLE for one year

I have trouble seeing Troy Murphy in green next year.  Quite frankly, if everyone gets healthy on this roster, he might not even be active in the playoffs.  Even if he is, I doubt he sniffs the floor.  I can't see him coming back for more of that next year unless we use the MLE, and I don't see Danny wanting to do that on Troy.

I also don't think Shaq and JO are going anywhere.  I don't think JO walks away from his guaranteed money.  And if the C's win in it all this year, I see Shaq wanting to come back for one more ring to top Kobe.  If we don't, I see him wanting to still get that last ring next year.

I don't see Sasha or Murphy back here next year.  I actually wouldnt mind Wafer back and I think our staff really likes him
