Do you guys like West running the point off the bench?
He is a bad playmaker and fails at running the point.
He is better as a catch and shoot player.

Yep, I do like him running point. Playmaking is overrated when you're one of the main scoring options off the bench.

Due to health reasons we obviously haven't seen much of him there, but I do think he's a good backup PG.  Certainly he's better than Nate at getting others involved.

Compared to Nate, he's much better.

Not really, but he's the best we have at this point.  If Arroyo learns the plays and plays well, I can see him eventually moving Delonte to backup 2.

I really do like West running the point.  He is smart and patient.  He makes a lot of passes that lead to the assist.  I've been excited about Delonte all year, I just hope he manages to stay healthy for the playoffs.

Not excited by his risk of injury.  Very encouraged by his play on the rare occasions he is in the lineup.

If he playing alongside a couple of other starters, he doesn't need to run the offense as Rondo does. He's a combo guard who can play the role of backup PG very well.

For me, Delonte is a combo guard that is competent at running the point as a backup. He can and should excel for this team at either guard spot because he knows Pierce, Rondo, Davis from before. He has also been here the whole season and has had time to get a little familiar with Shaq, KG, Ray, Wafer and JO, even being injured.

I would be much more comfortable with him running our team in the event of injury to Rondo than Nate or Bradley. We saw what that would be like and it was a struggle as Pierce and Ray tried to pick up the slack. Thank god that didnt happen for any great length of time.

Ill tell you what....it looks like he has gotten appreciably better at it since he left years ago.

He has always understood pace and is a plus passer. He just turns the ball over less it seems.

I thnk it could definitely work in the playoffs.

Eddie House was our primary backup in 07-08 and he played major minutes in that role in some of the biggest games (comeback in LA). Delonte is a better pg IMO than Eddie.

All he needs to do is be able to get the ball over the court and start the offense.  After you make the first point, he'll turn into a scorer just like Eddie House did.  Nate's issue was that he was selfish and made bad decisions from the start, making the wrong first pass or just trying to look for his own offense from the get go.  I don't think Delonte will do that.
