So Im sitting here watching the Bulls - Magic game and the more I watch Rose, the better his shot gets.  Hubie started talking about he put up 1,000 shots a day this off-season and how range is no longer a problem.

This got me to wondering...if Rose can do this, there is no reason Rondo shouldn't be able to do the same.  He's small, ball control is there...I swear he's just not putting the effort into his shot.

Don't get me wrong, Rondo has improved greatly over the last couple of years as a playmaker and Im happy that he's a Celtic, but that almost comes naturally as you get more used to the NBA game.

Thoughts?

Why does Shaq still suck shooting Free-Throws?

Some players just suck at shooting.

Rondo's jumper has actually improved quite a bit since his rookie season... I guess since Rose gets flashier scoring numbers, people just notice more *Kanye shrug*

The Celts coaches and other players seem to disagree with you.

Also just wanted to add, I'm also watching the Bulls/Magic broadcast and Hubie pointed out that Rose averages 24 pts per game but also averages 20 shot attempts per game... So clearly, the efficiency/accurancy isn't quite there yet even though he's put in the work to improve.

If being a great shooter was so easy, everyone would be Ray Allen.

Rose has better form than Rondo.  Rondo's form is all busted up to heck.  Not a work ethic issue.

I can't remember where I read it, but I remember hearing that part of Rondo's problem with shooting is that he has massive hands for a player his size. He has gotten better though, but I'm sure he could work on it more.

I think he is a better shooter than we see. It is all in his head. When he doesn't have to think about it (low shot clock) he shoots much better.

I think that Rondo has gotten better with his shooting only we don't really notice it much cause he doesn't take many shots during a game.

I like that Rondo isn't afraid to play his style of basketball and let's the Celtics style form around that. Most players come in and try to change there game to fit the style instead of letting the style work them in. We'll see finally what kind of progress he has made when the Big 3 are gone and he is the new face of the franchise.
