Just a question that I'm not sure that anyone here would be qualified to answer, but it is one that I'm sure is being asked inside the organization.

Is our training staff doing something, or not doing something, that is putting our players knees in jeaperdy?  Given that organizations like the Suns are able to do a great job at keeping players healthy, what's up with us?

PP, Perk, Nate, Baby, KG, Shaq, JO, TA, etc... all have had knee injuries.  I know they are old, and that the knee is a common injury point, but it sure feels like we are getting more than our share.

An I know that JO was hurt before he got here, but the other ones all happened on our watch.  Any medical experts on here care to comment?

Good question! I sure don't have the answer but will look forward to seeing what others have to say.

OK, 2 things.

First, look at the players who have gotten injured.  They have been guys with a ton of mileage on the knees (KG, JO, Pierce, Shaq), carry a lot more weight than the average NBA player (Shaq, Davis and Perkins), or have had histories of knee injuries or injuries in general (Powe, West, TA).

Second, I really don't think there have been significantly more injuries on the C's than any other team in the league (including the Suns).

Basically, this is just what the NBA is today, where everyone is putting so much more pressure on these joints with everyone jumping higher, and carrying so much more weight (of muscle mostly).  Combine that with an older team, and you are bound to have a ton of problems.

Please explain to me what the training staff could possibly be doing to hurt our players' knees (or put them in jeopardy)?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
