I am growing suspicious of Delonte's right ankle sprain.  I just read he will be out the whole weekend (friday and sunday's games).

Does anyone think he might be having 'other' issues?

Doc said when his ankle issue first happened that if it was a playoff game, Delonte would be playing.

Is this just a case of needing Delonte so bad that they dont want to risk further injury or might Delonte be going through some relapse...?

It's a case of the team can get by with him in the regular season but need him healthy in the post season.

I don't think so. Ankle sprains can take a long time sometimes, it's smart to let him fully heal.

I think they are just being extra cautious, like they are with every other play when he gets injured. Also, Delonte's absence will help ease Green & cie in the team rotations and schemes because of extended minutes (although you could argue that Delonte would need it too because he hasn't played much all year).

I was actually very surprised when I heard he might only miss two games?  I figured a truly sprained ankle would take longer (and it seems I was right).

From now on, I'm thinking the team doctors need to be overly cautious with the forecasts.  At least that way, the fans don't get as frustrated.

It all depends, I mean Wade keeps spraing his one ankle (the one he tweaked during the All-star game) but he keeps playing.

You can play on a pretty tore up ankle, the problem is long term it catches up with you.

delonte's gonna be fine. The c's always pull this guys are banged up right now but it mostly magically works itself out by playoffs we'll be fine.

These injuries are absolutely going to kill us come playoff time when our 35 year old starters have been playin 35 minutes all year

Nothing serious. He didn't practice on Thursday, so it might be a good choice to sit him this game. But I think he could play Sunday.
