It was good of Doc to weigh in on the Pierce and Green at the 2 and 3 controversy for us:

"Teams are going bigger and bigger at the guards and when they do that it helps us because now we can put Jeff and Paul on the floor at the same time,” Rivers said. “As long as it’s not the runners. We don’t want Paul or Jeff chasing the Ray Allen’s of the world. It does create a matchup.”"

Which is what specifically happened the other night when Phoenix had Grant Hill, Jared Dudley and Vince Carter out there all at the same time so that Doc could go with Davis, Green and Pierce. I can see doing that. But if your 2-3-4 on the floor is Bosh, LeBron, Wade or Bass/Anderson, Hedo, Richardon/Arenas my guess is you won't see a lot of Green at 3 and Pierce at 2 if at all.

Wade and Richardson and Arenas aren't really the in the mold of Ray Allen though. And, again, are you saying that West or Wafer can guard Wade better than Paul?

I'm saying Doc would leave Ray Allen on Wade big minutes like he did in last year's playoffs. Rather than sit Ray and play Pierce on him. If Ray gets in foul trouble my guess is West can guard him better than Pierce and that's who Doc would use.

The same Delonte West who's lacked lateral quickness for the better part of his career?? Since when did this guy become a plus defender? West would get his lunch handed to him. I completely disagree that he'd be better on Wade than Paul would. And at least Paul could make him work at the other end.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Why not Green on Wade in spots. Length to bother his outside shot and quickness and mobility to stay with him on the drives and maybe getting some blocks from behind.

I know at OKC, he was used exclusively at the 4 and 3 and mostly out of position at the 4. Doesn't he have the physical tools to stay with Wade and guard some 2s?

Kind of silly calling it a heist imo.  Going to depend on Perk's health.  If Perk can be healthy in the longterm, then good deal for both teams....I get that the media needs to be dramatic on the other hand.....

I will say that if I were Ok. City I wouldn't have done the deal as is....I'd have got Nazr now and tried to lure Perk in the offseason, realizing they could lose Green to a big offer from another team.  I do think giving Ibaka especially but also Aldrich, with Nazr starting, is a good idea and soemthing they could have done while keeping Green...
