Not that it really matters, but you would think that the leagues most dominant franchise would get a few All-Star games sprinkled in here and there over the years.

Just a weird observation I had.

I had a similar question last year, and NickAgneta's answer made sense.

It has some to do with weather....if the All-Star game is in mid-Feb, not many folks would try to venture to the Northeast in Mid-Feb due to potential for snow and such.

Never mind that the Superbowl was in Dallas this year...........

But anyway I'd LOVE it to be in Boston next year. I'd love to hear Kobe and Gasol get booed by Boston's faithful, like they booed our Four last month.

Man it was GREAT hearing KG, Paul, Ray and Rondo get booed.....LA will be booing them again in a few months, just wait.

Don't you just hate it when people boo at their televisions?

I don't really have time to dig it up but I know there was a thread last month that discussed this and there was some pretty interesting dicussion in it.

Well, they've had ASG's in Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, and New York in the late 90's/early 00's...although the most recent cold weather destination was in 2002 at Philly I think, so I guess that's the best guess as to why we haven't had an ASG.

I'm suprised they didn't have one in Boston in the 80's though, seems weird to me.

Boston is just too good a city to host this.

Nobody wants to go to a freezing cold city in the middle of winter while its snowing for an all-star break.

Yeah, those Laker fans are going to have to boo pretty loud for the Celtics to hear them, while they are sitting at home with their team eliminated.  ;)

Unfortunately the game is already scheduled for Orlando next year.

Can't be the weather Minni had one in 1994. Denver in 84.  Indy in 85.  Cleveland in 97.  NYC in 98. Philly in 02.  Plenty of places with bad weather in the last twenty years.

I think tnerb02 is on the real cause.  The rat b#%$&rd called David Stern.  Do we really want to host a joke?

I mean the game means nothing.  The other contests besides the three point shooting are dumb now.  I don't like the three person finals in the three point shooting, it should be two.  Probably brings in some dough for the city though and expose our great facilities.
