I would love to see SVG and Sheed get into it. That would be pretty entertaining

1. If Rasheed sign with other team does we get some exception or something? Is he a free agent now? i don't know what happens with contract when you retire.

We wouldn't receive any compensation.  Rasheed's contract was bought out, making him a free agent.

I don't believe he ever formally filed retirement papers, but if he did the other 29 teams would all have to unanimously agree to let him play this year.  (Under the rules, without league-wide agreement, retired players have to wait one year to play again.)

2. We are interested in Brewer who i think is a very good player and he will fit well here so if we sign him now how much can we offer next season? Do we have his birds rights or we can offer him only MLE?

We wouldn't have Brewer's Bird Rights.  We could give him a 20% raise next year, or the minimum salary, whichever is higher.

Or we could sign him to the MLE if there is still one under the new CBA, correct?

So he can take Dwight's techs for him?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Sheeds just jealous of these guys racking up the techs.

He was chasing Perk last year and now he wants Dwight

That would be tough but if anyone could do it it'd be Sheed.

According to Steven A. Smith on WEEI a couple days ago, Sheed has been thinking about coming back for Orlando throughout the season (just like he has been thinking about coming back for the C's).  I am not sure if thats where this is from.

If steven reported that then Sheed will surely stay retired.

I hope they get him (Davis) so that the media and fan base will finally get beyond their fascination with this fat lard of a has-been PF who chucks up way too many threes jumpers::)

Fixed.

While it'd be nice to have Rasheed back, I don't think he's necessary at this point, and I too question his conditioning.

I realize that Dwight Howard enables other players to get more open look for 3-pointers, but I don't understand their obsession with getting nothing but 3-point shooters?!  It's as if they thought "ok, we'll get Dwight and then have everyone else stand around and shoot 3's!"  Rasheed wouldn't help the magic that much, but he'd probably be better for them than us at this point.

I don't believe he would come back only to play for ORL, but it is amazing the effect that Sheed still has on us.

Deservedly so, for Sheed. I still have pleasant memories of him abusing Gasol in the post last June...man, Sheed looked so natural down there doing that.

I don't know how much he would have left right now - even IF he was staying active. He seemed rather banged up for us last season.

I think ORL needs more than Sheed right now.

I loved when he "pulled the chair out" on Howard in the Orlando series and some of his hard, hard fouls on Dwight that probably should be Flagrants but he would get away with them. He wouldn't even try and get the ball and literally karate chop Howards forearm viciously. It looks like a "basketball play" though so got away with it

Yes - that was one of Sheed's brilliant (and veteran) moves on Dwight. He played well vs ORL all of last year - regular season and playoffs.

I would still welcome him back here in Green, but we are set now.

I just don't thing there'd be enough room for him in Green now, with Shaq, JO, Glen, Dropkick, Nenad, KG....yep we are set.

Let him go.  Imagine Sheed trying to cover Shaq or KG? It would be a great match up in our favor.
do it

They may want him but I really don't see him going there at all.  It was here or nowhere.  He had his chance and its gone.
