Why not arroyo as our 3rd string pg, if only to get miami's plays
wait
play 1 - give it to lebron and clear out
play 2 - pass the ball into lebron let him bring it up the court, clear out
play 3 - lebron is on the bench, panic, stay calm, give ball to wade, clear out
play 5 - lebron or wade dribble, continue dribbling, pass to bosh for jump shot
play 6 - oops only 5

I think Arroyo would be a very smart pickup.  Sure, I suppose one could talk about him knowing Miami's plays, but anyone watching some tape can figure that out.

The real reason is that he'd be a fairly good option backing up Rondo if West went down.  Let's keep in mind that Rondo will play 40+ mpg in the playoffs, so the prospect of being the #3 PG on this team isn't exactly appealing.

However, if Arroyo takes it, I'd be confident seeing 5-8 mpg of him in the playoffs if push came to shove and Delonte got hurt again.

Play 7 - Bosh hasn't chucked up a jumper in a while, why don't we toss it his way and he can...oh I remember why we don't do that now.

In favor of who?  You're acting like we have a wealth of options.

I don't think backup backup PG is a huge need, but what's your plan if West goes down in the playoffs?

I mean I'd love Steve Nash to be on our bench too and I certainly don't think that Arroyo is perfect; however, he could manage to bring the ball up the court and make some passes for 5-8 mpg in a playoff game if called on.

Arroyo wasn't doing a good job of handling the pressure of playing for the Heat in regular season games. Playing scared, afraid of making decisions. I'm worried about how he'd do in the playoffs. I don't think he's ageing well, the lack of ability has affected his confidence.

I'd very much prefer Garrett Temple.

don't forget about Sasha Pavlovic, he's a stud on the court.
haha. I can't even write that with a straight face.

Other than a possible backup PG as insurance since DWest can't stay on the court, I think we should just stand pat.

But again, why?

I would understand if we had a full roster and had to cut someone.  But are you seriously saying that if West went down in the playoffs or Rondo got suspended for a game due to an altercation, you'd rather have Avery Bradley out there than Carlos Arroyo?

Now I'm no Arroyo fan, but he's clearly proven this year and over his career that he belongs in the NBA.

While I have high hopes for Bradley down the road, Avery has yet to do that.

Looked at hoopshype...besides Arroyo, we have the choice of Pargo, and Jamaal Tinsley. I haven't seen either play much though. Only Tinsley but that was years ago...

and to whomever referenced Temple, he just signed a 10day with the Bobcats so if we were to pick him up, we'd have to wait to see what the Bobcats do with him

i would rather go with bradley..there are no options left worth bringing in...at any positions

Antoine Walker anyone?  lol  JK!

Ainge must have someone else in mind as a potential rotation player.   Otherwise I would rather have Erden and Harangody for the 14th and 15th spots and not made the Cleveland trade at all.

I wouldn't mind even another big as insurance like Powe.  I thought I saw an Eddie Curry rumor somewhere but now the latest I see is that he will be joining the Heat.  No idea if he can do anything at this point anyway.

That really just doesn't make any sense. You'd rather just leave 2 roster spots open just so the guys have more room to spread out on the bench?
