I liked what Emmett said that all shooters want to play with Rhondo. Makes sense.

I'm not getting all excited about this because I just read an appreciation thread for him when he was leaving Pacers(?)  and going to NJ and it was all negative and said he was overpaid at 12 mill. Everyone was saying thank you for working so hard, etc. but it was always followed by they were glad to see him leave. Maybe the Celtics setup will work better for him. Hope so.

I would be p---ed at Murphy too if he was getting 12 million a year and not playing a lick of defense.

But he is going to be paid the Vet min, so if he scores a few points and crashes the defensive boards and does nothing else, it is a win for me.

Shaq is on a vet. minimum contract too. Would you be happy with that kind of production from Shaq too?

Hell I'm happy with Shaq this year, hes not injured they're just resting him. Murphy was a solid player in Indiana and Golden State, solid isn't worth 12 million, however he was worth 6-7 mil so it wasn't like he was completely useless. Good move for the C's

I think he came here because right now he thinks he can start.  In his head he has to be thinking I can sit Krstic down.   I too think he can if can board and commit to some defensive effort.  I think he will be on the bench after the O'Neal returns though.  Doc simply likes how Shaq plays with our starters.  But he could play a big role on our bench.  Either way he buys more time for Shaq and O'Neal to recover and get in shape.

I was watching a rerun of the association today on NBA.TV and something struck.  I am paraphrasing but Doc said he and Danny wanted a starting five and a bench five at the beginning of the season.  They wanted this because it would provide our starters with rest.  I think its say to say we have a starting five and a bench five now.  I am assuming we will add another perimeter guy too.  If we do I think we surpass the 86 Celtics in terms of collective talent and I never thought I would say that.   I am worried about the injury bug but we are deep and talented.

Perk was definitely a better one defender than most our present bigs.  But Shaq, KG, Jermaine, Davis, Green, Krstic and Murphy are a lot of beef and fouls to throw downrange at an opposing team.  However, this is much better than Shaq, KG, Jermaine, Davis, Perkins and Erden in many ways.

I think KG will whip the new guys into shape.  Hard to tell what we get out of Murphy but I think he will be hungry for a ring.

i think its simple, he came here because we beat Miami already three times with center by committee.  we are the better team and he will make us even better.

I think the reason is simple; best chance to win a ring.

Yeah. It really isnt that complicated.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
