I remember when Boston had the #5 pick in the draft the year he came out, and being deathly afraid Ainge was going to take him.

I will gladly pass, there is no room for a ballhog with bad attitude and poor basketball IQ on this team.

He may replicate Green a bit, but I would take Thornton over Brewer any day.

Seriously though, what is with all of these young guys being cut/bought out?

Hopefully the Mavs will look at him now and pay him some of their MLE, please get off our backs Mavs. I want Brewer.

Don't want him, would much rather have Brewer.

Hopefully he'll work as a smokescreen where someone like the Mavs turn their attention to him and we can snap up Brewer.

Really, Chris? I don't think Thornton has much in the way of BBIQ, motor, or the defensive ability that Brewer does.

I do think some team will make a wise investment picking him up. Minnesota? Sacto? They both have the cap room for his salary ($2.8 mil).

Well, worse things could happen.  I still think that it's going to be a tough sell to get a decent wing to come here.  I mean even without Green on the team, it's hard enough to get minutes behind Ray and Paul.  With Green here now, it's going to be darn near impossible.

Then again I thought there was no way Murphy was coming here due to our front court depth.  So what do I know?

Chicago will likely get first pick, so if we can even get Thorton, I'd be happy.  Brewer would be better though.

Guess it just shows that teams are looking more towards veterans to build a winners club rather than spend money on developing young talent. The youth of the nation is in trouble I tell ya.

Completely agree. He can create his own shot. We don't have many guys who can.

I´d rather have Brewer.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I don't hate the idea of Thornton on the Celtics but with other needs more important I am not sure this should be #1 priority. I think that would be another PG. Then a big and if we can't get Brewer then Thornton would be nice.
