In the playoffs, the winner is often not determined by which team has the best 9-10 players, but which team has the best 2 or 3.

Our team certainly has a great team-oriented system on both sides of the ball, and we have oodles of depth and talent.  However, at the end of the day, if we were to face Miami, Orlando, Chicago, LA, or even the Knicks, we would not have the best player in the series.  In a few of those cases we wouldn't even have one of the best 2 players in the series.

In the playoffs, there are a lot of things that can happen.

We have 4 all-stars starting on this team, as well as a force in Shaq. We have the best depth and the best record in the east.

Teams win titles, and this team is LOADED with talent, all-star talent, hall of fame talent.

Pistons in 2004 had 0 hall-of-famers and no perennial all-stars yet they beat the Kobe+Prime Shaq Lakers.

The best team wins. We were the better team in 2010 but lost because of injuries to the lineup in the playoffs but still were able to make it to a game 7 of a finals on the road. We are even BETTER this year.

Also, RONDO was the best player in the series last year vs the Cavs. He outpayed LeBron.

I swear some people act like our roster is full of nobodies. All of our stars are capable of outplaying their opponent, regardless of who it is. They are star players for a reason.

I still liked our team before the Perk deal better than the one we got now.

I think we have a better team today than we did last week, but I thought that right after the trade.

Games aren't played on paper. We still need to see how comfortable and productive Green, Krstic and Murphy will be within our system and style of play.

That said, I love our team...and the OP's optimism.

MIA is going to have trouble getting to conference finals I think.  They have not did against winning teams and horrible against the best teams in the league.  Last time I checked, most teams in the playoffs have better records.  LA will always be tough but they might have trouble making it past SA.  Who knows, why worry?  If the Celtics are your team, you root for them bottom line...

Anything can happen, of course, but we are deeper and more talented team today Mar 1 2008 than we were one week ago with Perk.   We have about the same size and we gained some experience.

Not seeing how the Mavs can be overlooked this easily. In my opinion, the best team in the west.

To win the championship that is... Not in any favorite type of way.

Last year was my most favorite Celtic team ever, hard to believe I know, but it was the one I felt most connected to.

How can this team be looked at seriously? This is a team who has had the first seed in the west and as recent as last year the 2nd seed in the west and have been ousted in the playoffs. They are a regular season team plain and simple. Especially with the Butler injury and now the Chandler injury ( who has made the only real difference on this team) it certainly isn't a team I would pick to come out.

To me it's the teams that have been there before and are proven winners with coaches who are proven winners. I will be absolutely shocked if neither the Spurs or Lakers come out of the west. Teams like the Thunder and Mavs just aren't on their level.

Im over the trade, I like our current team better, we are way more talented post-trade.

Its widely been agreed upon earlier in the season that Shaq is better then Perk and should be the starter.

So basically we were freaking out about a back-up center playing 18 minutes and having no offensive game to speak of determining our season.

I was shocked at first and didnt know how to react.

But I know now that we are much more talented and were also bigger then we were before the trade.

I embrace it.

I was ready to stick a fork in this team until i went to bed, woke up and started thinking rationally.

How can they be looked at seriously? They are playing great defense, have the DPOY (IMO), and a MVP candidate in Dirk. They have the size to play with anyone in the West, and can play enough defense like they couldn't in the past to compete with anybody.
