A 3 dollar bill.

Or a sign and trade for a 3 dollar bill to be used at a later date.

Jeff Green.  UGH!

LOL

You've got to be kidding me with this....

Well, it was obviously a bit of hyperbole.  Still don't care for Green though.  I just see him as another tweener who never fully reaches his potential.  These types of players are a dime a dozen, and usually get way overpaid.  I'd rather it be some other team overpaying him, and not the C's.

hos is a player like Green a dime a dozen?? if he was the Celtics wouldnt be interested in bringing him back...theres no one else with comparable talent we can get out there for the $$ we have(maybe grant hill or shane battier but thats about it)

It would be refreshing if "worth" had anything to do with it.

Just because he may be the best player we can get for the money we have to offer does not make doing so a good idea.  Green is going to end up as an overpaid PF/SF with no true position.  These types of contracts always end up as bad, cap-killing deals.

Hopefully just the QO.

A one year QO deal I could live with.  Doesn't compromise our cap space, but does allow Green one last chance to prove he's better than most think he is.

Im hoping JG takes the QO to give himself one season to prove his worth.

but the way I look at it is. Jeff green has the talent advantage against most Bench SF's on other teams...I would rather have Jeff Green taking the shots/looks than BBD on our 2nd unit as a 6th man

For me the worst of Jeff is low intensity, poor blood.

Instead of waiting for people to notice him this year, I am hoping Jeff Green forces people to notice him.

With Pierce on the roster:  not worth the cap space.

I find all the posts about Green being the future hilarious.  We weren't gonna sign Perk what makes people think we're gonna mess up our 2012 free agency for this kid?

we don't have to mess up the future cap space to get him. If he is signed for 8-10 under the current cba we would be at around 40 mil with

rondo
bradley
pp
green

on the roster

That would leave us about 20 mil in cap space more than enough for a max contract.

If the new CBA makes the salary cap go down we will sign green for between 6-8 mil per year.

Dannyh didn't trade Perk just to rent green for a few months, get real.

TP for the perspective

If it is 5-7 will be well worth it (8-10, not so much). For whatever its worth Green is obviously a known quantity for the C's and since he was not a bust last year by any means, you have to believe the C's will give him a legitimate shot at a long term deal. Perk got 4y / 35 mil and is making just over 7 mil this season. Do not see them offering Green more than that. If so the whole logic of the Perk deal goes out the window.

The logic of the Perk deal included him coming off major injury, a roster full of potential replacements, and an immediate need.  Without all of those factors converging, I doubt it happens.  Green is a tougher decision.  I DONT think he is a known quantity yet, and operating in the first year of a new CBA likely adds another bit of uncertainty.

A bag of Spicy Nacho Doritos and a 79 cent fountain drink

But seriously; Im ok with having him back on the QO but I would not give him any kind of multi-year deal after his performance last season (With OKC and Boston)
