Yesterday's results:   Celtics win! Celtics win!  After nearly getting stomped in the second game of our road back-to-back, the fellas rallied and took down the Hornets.

Miami also won.  Feh.

Today's games: All quiet on the Eastern front; although if the Knicks happen to lose at Milwaukee we will officially clinch the Atlantic.

Out West, the Lakers play Portland at home, and the Mavericks face Golden State in Dallas.

Off to watch March Madness - go Cuse and Carolina!

Yesterday's results:   Lakers and Mavericks both won at home, though LA struggled mightily before squeaking one out against Portland.

Also, the Knicks lost to the the Bucks, making the Celtics

2011 ATLANTIC DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!!
Ok, not our biggest goal but it's one more box checked off along the way.

Today's games: Celtics play the slumping Knicks in MSG and try to send them down to the 7th spot.  This is also one of the increasingly important in-conference games that will help us with the second tiebreak.

Bulls are at home against the Kings; probably an easy win but you never know.

Yesterday's results:   Celtics sleepwalked through the first half, then built momentum til they absolutely bulldozed New York for their 50th win.  Sorry Knicks fans, you're still one win away from getting to pretend like this is a rivalry.

The Bulls kept pace by blowing out the Kings, although we did gain slightly on them, since our win was against an Eastern Conference opponent, helping our tiebreaker chances.

Today's games: Small slate of games today, but some meaningful ones for us:  First, the Bulls go on the road to play the Hawks.  Then the Lakers are at home vs the Suns.  Hopefully at least one of them will do us the favor of dropping a game because some breathing room would be great right now.

Yesterday's results:   The Bulls once again won in a blowout, crushing Atlanta.  They're now in sole possession of first, though we'll hopefully catch up again tonight.  With the Hawks loss we're now very close to clinching 1st round homecourt, though we were gonna get there sooner or later anyway.

The Lakers also won, although in triple-OT.  I turned off this game with about 3 to go in regulation but apparently it was pretty crazy.  No regrets since the Lakers won anyway and I needed the sleep.

Today's games: Boston plays at home against the now Rudy Gay-less Grizzlies.  And Miami is at Detroit (are the Pistons still actually showing up for games?  Huh.)

Four way tie

Boston,Dallas,Chicago,Lakers

boston-chicago 2-1
boston-dallas 0-2
boston-lakers 1-1
lakers-dallas 1-1
lakers-chicago 1-1
chicago-dallas 2-0

overall record

chicago 51-19
lakers 51-20
boston 50-20
dallas 49-21

this is the record i'm looking at the most, we definitelty need to realise the need of HCA against the lakers, in the east not really that worried although HCA is alot better.

Yesterday's results:   We dropped another one, to the Grizzlies this time.  Not good.  And Miami came back late against Detroit, and are now starting to breathe down our necks again.  Also not good.  Oh yeah, and we're now behind the Lakers.  Doubleplus ungood.

TP for keeping the count alive and in a funny/creative way. Hopefully your work will be rewarded with the Celtics climbing up the standings once again but it's probably unlikely.

The Lakers have a tough schedule coming up. Including Hornets, Dallas, a very good Nuggets team, Portland, spurs, thunder….hopefully they will slip allowing us to get a head of them.

Yesterday's results:    Pretty trivial day in the standings - Dallas beat the T'Wolves, and well, that's it.

Today's games: The NBA gets back in action with a big slate of Friday games.  First, our own Celtics are at home against a Bobcats team fighting for a playoff spot but missing their best player.  This is pretty much a must-win to stay competitive for home court.

Next, the Heat plays Philly at home, and Chicago takes on Memphis - hopefully the Grizzlies can repeat what they did to us the other night.

And finally, the battle of Los Angeles - it's not just for crappy movies anymore, as the Lakers take on the Clippers in Staples.

Tiebreakers: Dallas clinched over BostonBoston split head-to-head with LA , but lead in second tiebreak, conference record - 33-9 vs 30-11.

Great recaps you do.

Just a little correction.

The Lakers currently own the tiebreaker over the Celtics.  In the Finals; the tiebreaker is "Record against OPPOSING conference".

Because the Lakers have been better against the East than the Celtics have been against the West, the Lakers own the tiebreaker.

Do you have a citation on this?  I can't find anything that describes different rules for interconference tiebreaks.

Yesterday's results:    Another stinker as Boston drops a very, very winnable game against the Bobcats.  Cats tend to give us trouble but without S-Jax there's no excuse for that kind of performance.  Glad I watched it on DVR.

To make things worse, the Bulls, Heat, and Lakers all won as well.  We're gonna need to get hot quickly and have the Bulls and Lakers drop a couple to have any shot.
