This would be huge, especially against the Heat.

Brewer can guard both D Wade and Lebron.  Should make for a fresher than usual Paul Pierce.

I really am dreading the day this team will have to rebuild.  The trade deadline and buy-out season is like Christmas for playoff teams, it's awesome!
So true!  We have to enjoy this while it lasts!  Enough complaining about things like "We cut Erden and Harangody?!!  NOOO!"  We should take what Danny gives us and be happy about it!

I'll take Green+Kristic+Murphy+Brewer over Perk+Nate+Erden+Luke any day. No brainer.

If that's true then this team will be extremely balanced especially if Delonte stays healthy.

you're talking about a full second unit of veterans: west, brewer, green, murphy, o'neal. that's almost good enough to be a starting lineup for a bad team.

I see what you did there. Already excluding Big Baby.  ;D

You Sir Rock!

truth is the third team isn't bad:

Krstic
Murphy
Von Wafer
Brewer
Bradley

roster of:

Rondo, West, bradly
Ray, Wafer
PP, Green, Brewer
KG, Baby, Murphy
Shaq, Kristic, JO

might be too much for any team to contend with

I just read the Knicks claimed Derrick Brown of waivers.

That's a very good acquisition for them, Brown is a good player, but it doesn't make any sense to waive Brewer and then sign a slightly different but worse version of him in Brown.

I would too, but to be fair you have to include another comparison -- Perk+Murphy+Brewer+Nate, which it also could have been if there was no Perk trade.   We're  better off next year (assuming we'd lose Perk), but I'm still not convinced we are better off this year.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
After reading this article on truehoops I'm a lot more interested.

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post?id=25595

Quote
Basically, despite playing for a miserable Timberwolves team, he has showed up very well in almost any stat that incorporates defense -- plus/minus, adjusted plus/minus, opponents' productivity, etc. Some of that is probably an artifact of the reality that it's easy to be efficient when you aspire to do little on offense. Brewer doesn't take a lot of bad shots, he can feed the post, and he's incredibly high energy so he cleans up on turnovers and with easy buckets.

I thought that he was being overrated defensively, but seems he's legit.

http://twitter.com/ted_oneill saying that Brewer has agreed to be a Celtic. If this is true we just need one more wing player. Trying to find these supposed sources though.

I seen this quote on Hoopshype:

Mark Deeks:

"Corey Brewer appears to have twice as many suitors as LeBron, so his ESPN special should be at least two hours long."

Everyone wants truth on his side, not everyone wants to be on the side of truth.

Corey Brewer's kind of like a bigger Tony Allen, isn't he?  Really athletic and he can play very good-to-great defense at the 2 and 3 spots, but you don't really want him trying to do too much on offense.

EDIT: And why didn't NY want anything to do with him?  Athletic player that can get up and down the court, seems like he could do well in a backup role behind Carmelo, even if he can't shoot a lick.

He's a "Celtics fan in Seattle" and "Apple fanboy" retweeting some guy I've never heard about but that also seems dubious as a reliable source of NBA news.
