Saves Washington a ton of money next year who is now at like 38 million entering next season (enough for a max, plus).

what are the rules regarding re-signing a player you signed off waivers? can you give them big money? this reeks of tampering.

The Hinrich traded turned out spectacular to Washington.

Draft Rights to Vladimir Veremeenko
$5.9 millions (Hinrich's pro rated salary this season)

Kirk Hinrich contributions till the trade deadline
$3 Million dollars
2011 draft pick (possibly early 20s)
2010 draft pick 17th (Kevin Seraphin)
Jordan Crawford (2010 draft pick 27th)
Mo Evans (expiring contract)

This is probably one of the best deals ever in the "nobody cares" category.
