If we do win, I hope we vote him a playoff share and send him a ring.

Is there a doubt in anybody's mind that this would happen...   or that Perk wouldn't be thrilled for his former teammates.

I am for the trade, but if he wasn't voted a share and the ring, they don't deserve to be called Celtics.

And, if Perk wasn't happy for his pals, (blank) him, he wasn't really their pal.

If we make it to the Finals, and it's not against the Thunder, Perk will be physically there courtside rooting us on....no doubt in my mind. That's a nice image to contemplate. Hope it happens.

In addition, in an alternate universe where the Thunder make it and we don't, many of his  Celtic teammates will be there for him.

I know the idea sounds kind of overblown or stupid because winning a championship is first and foremost a joy for the whole team. But as I re-watched the "It's all about 18" clips with Perk (and Nate) in it, I was wondering if you will feel a little less "happy" or different if we win the title this year knowing we will do so without Perk. What are your thoughts and feelins about this? The franchise first, the players second?

If Celts win banner 18, is it tainted without Perk? No!! Now if anything, it'll be that much more sweet because it'll mean that much more crow for naysayers to eat who criticized Danny Ainge.

Not at all. No more sad than winning it without Eddie house.

I said the same thing when the Celtics traded Paul Westphal for Charlie Scott in 1975. Winning it all in 1976 evaporated those sentiments quite fast!! And Westphal quickly became the enemy (key member of the Suns, our finals opponent that year).

No way, I am a Celtic fan first not a fan of an individual player over the team.  I think I am in the minority though.

The wolf bit his butt for sure.

If the Game 7 was tonight I might care a very, very tiny bit.

But I think most people won't care nearly as much several months from now after this team has been together longer and Green and Krstic have (hopefully) wowed us with their play.

:oEvery action has a reaction. Any of you recall reading about Bird, Parish, Pierce, Allen, McHale, Ainge, Walton, Hondo, Cousy, Heinsohn, Sharman, Jo-Jo, announcig that they were going to test the Market before even negotiating with the team??? Isnt that what we call Celtic Pride, The Boys of Red, the Celtic tradition? Perk called the wolf and he didnt know the Wolf might actually show up? When you start dealing with matches, a fire may start, accidentally or not. Please dont tell me that times change. I thought the Celtic Tradition or Celtic Pride never changes. He wants more money - fine. Good luck and hopes he finds a team that pays him. Whatever makes him happy does not wear celtic green anymore. So be it.

Exactly, exactly, exactly. Couldn't have said it better. Perk overvalued himself. Perk asked for this, then got emotional when he was traded. Which I don't get smh

Oh boy, the corollary of that logic is that we should trade the entire roster.

Tainted?

I follow a team. I don't get hung up on any individual players.

Answer: No.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Was the Sox win in 2004 tainted because they traded Nomar? Nomar was also a much better player in his sport than Perk is, so as long as Perk gets a ring (I'm sure they'd give him and Quisy one) everyone will be happy.

mmm, I thought of that one earlier, but Nomar pretty much sulked his way put of town.
