Winning banner 18 without Perk - a tainted feeling?

I know the idea sounds kind of overblown or stupid because winning a championship is first and foremost a joy for the whole team. But as I re-watched the "It's all about 18" clips with Perk (and Nate) in it, I was wondering if you will feel a little less "happy" or different if we win the title this year knowing we will do so without Perk. What are your thoughts and feelins about this? The franchise first, the players second?

I will still be absolutely thrilled, but there would definitely be a twinge of sadness.  It just doesn't feel right, not having Perk on the team.

Any of you recall reading about Bird, Parish, Pierce, Allen, McHale, Ainge, Walton, Hondo, Cousy, Heinsohn, Sharman, Jo-Jo, announcig that they were going to test the Market before even negotiating with the team??? Isnt that what we call Celtic Pride, The Boys of Red, the Celtic tradition? Perk called the wolf and he didnt know the Wolf might actually show up? When you start dealing with matches, a fire may start, accidentally or not. Please dont tell me that times change. I thought the Celtic Tradition or Celtic Pride never changes. He wants more money - fine. Good luck and hopes he finds a team that pays him. Whatever makes him happy does not wear celtic green anymore. So be it.

I'd feel a little bad if he was actually active the whole year and we dumped him near the end.  But we got to where we are more or less without him.

Yes franchise first. And while I really like Perk it won't affect me if we win.

But I can't go with the "careless who or how part." I can think of some people that no matter how good they are I'd NEVER want them in Boston. Not even if they could win us 5 or more rings.

Would be a nice sentiment, but the nice gesture would also seem like a slap in the face depending on the perspective you want to give it. Best thing to do is recognize that it was sad to win it without him, to wish he was here with them, and leave it at that.
