That's good to hear. He dropped 20 lbs in the month he was out last year around this time too. And it was apparent in the playoffs.

I think they held him out in order to get in shape with a trainer.

That's great. Looks like that "injury" is the type of injury you put out there to have an excuse to not play someone, but in a good way ;P

Basketball reference and NBA,com list him at 325 but sure that was 2010.  His rookie card listed him at 300, NBA reported 303 that would have been 1992-93.  He weighted 294 At LSU.

Round is a shape  :P

Seriously good news if true, though.  One of the toughest things for a big with a foot injury is the tendency to add weight while laid up, making the injury worse over time.  Hope this is legit.

Didn't Dickerson guarantee that Tony Allen would re-sign with the Celtics?

Great.  But Shaq decides he should lose some weight about as often as Jermaine decides that he should strengthen his legs.

It's kind of annoying that he has to have weight related injuries to inspire him to get in better shape.

I say play Shaq 10-15 games and then hold him for the playoffs.  Or wait another 2-3 weeks and then work him back in.  I don't see a need to play him the remianing 25.  I hold my breath every time he or Jermaine are in a game.  We NEED at least one of them healthy throughout the playoffs (hopefully Shaq).  Even if Troy signs, we still need an O'Neal.
