He's only 30, i don't think he's too old to be tall and hit 3s. He's a rugged rebounder... he put up 24 and 18 against us just 14mths ago! I think he will be a KEY part of our rotation. Not sure what's happened this year, frankly, but 7ftrs who hit 3s aren't the guys who suddenly "lose it" at 33, let alone 30.

Will take some time to get him up to speed... basically has to go through training camp again, but this guy will be a SOLID SOLID guy for us. God, i hope Miami doesn't get him!

Forget insurance!! How is this guy on the court for 30 minutes or more per night against teams without a true center!?!?

I haven't seen anything to indicate that he's been too hurt (a few nagging ones) or lost a step or anything like that... why aren't people more excited for this guy? If he's on Miami, its a DISASTER. He's a rebounding machine that can hit open 3s and plays his butt off... what am i missing?

Doc and Danny might also sell him on coming here by telling him they will keep him around after this season

There has to be a verbal agreement in place between Ainge & Murphy's agent. From what I've read the agent is one of the more powerful ones in the league.  Guys like that usually don't go back on their word.

Reason I suggest this is DA wouldn't have parted with Semih, a player with value, without some sort of verbal commitment that a key player -- assuming it really is Murphy -- is coming here.

I'm not sure it matters.  Especially since we have Shaq, JO and krstic.

I agree it's a good problem to have.  Hopefully, Murphy sees this as an opportunity for exposure on a great team, and hopefully, he has enough confidence in himself to believe that he'll earn minutes. 

On the plus side for him, the next 3 weeks are a golden opportunity to earn regular rotation minutes (Baby and Troy can man the 4/5 against any 2nd unit and against some starting units).  Nenad and Troy, KG and Troy, Baby and Troy, and eventually Shaq and Troy all are potentially productive combinations against the right match-ups -- if Troy can produce the way he used to. 

For Doc, what flexibility he'll have if he has a healthy roster.
