Playoff roster eligibility and buyout cutoff date?

The date I keep seeing is March 1.  But does that mean a player can be waived on March 1, any time before midnight and still be playoff eligble for another team?  Or does it mean before March 1, making 2/28 (Monday) the last day.

Don't know about the specific hour, but players need to be bought-out/cut by March 1 to be eligible. After that they have to pass waivers for a team to sign them.

Right but the question is when do they need to be waived to make them playoff eligible?  Just wondering if I need to monitor the waiver wire all day long Monday, or if need to that Monday and Tuesday

I believe it's by the time the league office closes on 3/1.  It's not midnight at 2/28.
