Ya know, reading this post just reminds me of how young this board is.  M*A*S*H was a highly popular tv show in the 70's and 80's and if I'm not mistaken, the final episode still holds the ratings record.

I have know idea of the answer even though it was my favorite show and have seen each of the 251 (of which Hawkeye and Maj. Houlihan only two to appear in all).

Final episode was passed, I think, by this year's superbowl.  But, it's still one of the top viewed shows of all time.  I didn't like the final episode at all BTW.

A somewhat interesting and connected side note:

I knew Alan Alda a little bit at one point in my life.  I was very good friends (just friends) with his daughter in college.  We were in school in Connecticut and the Alda's home was in Englewood, NJ.  I spent the night at the Alda house on a few occasions -- I went out to a play with Mr. Alda and ate dinner, breakfast with him a couple of times.  I slept in the room with his Emmy's and People Choice awards.  This was back when MASH was still current (late 70's).  He was extermely unpretentious.

OK, maybe not all that interesting.

golf I hope??  :P

As I am the OP, I figure I should check in. Shall we continue or should I give the answer?

I'm a long time MASH fan, and have followed the C's since we all got on Max's back in '81, and have no clue.  It's driving me completely nuts.  I can't even find out on Google.

If you don't want to post it yet, could you at least PM me for the sake of whatever level of mental stability I may be able to maintain?

Thx.

It couldn't be "Bones" McKinney, could it?  Just the medical connection I guess.

Was the call of the game historically correct with the time--I'm assuming 1950-53ish?

Half the players named in this thread so far weren't even on the team at the time.
