Al Jefferson.

Totally disagree. Al still can't guard a chair.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Al Jefferson.

Yeah, but even then...Danny managed to keep the Celtics best young asset (Rondo), and Perkins, when you know minny was asking after both of them.

The point is a good one...Danny Ainge is a smart guy that usually doesn't make mistakes with trades.

Here's every transaction he's made with the Celtics:

He may not have let anyone go who's "excelled," but he's let go of some very good role players that could help this current squad. Dahntay Jones and Ryan Gomes to name two.

He's also drafted and traded for some duds. Again, Marcus Banks and Sebastian Telfair, to name two.

When drafting, it's not easy evaluating from a far. My point is after seeing someone day in and day out, he's made the right call. And that might seem like an easy task when you see them day to day but GMs make major mistakes all the time.

Al is one but in return we got KG back and that was a total score.

I like Gomes but it's debatable how effective he is on teams that don't win. And Jones, I don't know that much about after he left but I don't think we've missed out.

Danny offered TA a contract, he chose not to take it.

Tony's agent gave Ainge an ultimatum, Ainge chose not to match. Ainge let him go.

danny biggest mistake: gerald green.  gerald green's upside is still huge.  i understand trading him to get garnett, but with some coaching and his skills and talent he could be a top 5 sf as he matures.  rondo, green and green sound like a good foundation after the big 3 era.

im kidding of course, cant believe i used to be a green fan...
all in all, dannys done a great job so far so its hard to complain. which i assume was your point.  its just tough to see that vision right now...but as you make clear, you gotta trust the guy.

That's a good one. But I don't recall Bynum ever playing a game with us? What was the situation there again?
