KG Knee your one of my favorite posters. TP. Don't be gone long, but do take it easy. As one of the most moderated blogs around, it could have been much worse.

Unfortunately, emotions are running high and tempers are frayed right now. To be expected given recent events.

At the end of the day we all just want the Celtics to win, that we can all agree on.

A win tonight would help everything a lot.

I admire you for reclaiming your life but you'll be back.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
This is not your father's or grandfather's Celtics.  That's why I could care less about the name on the back of the jersey and love the one on the front.

Back in 1992 the only single athlete I ever cared about retired from the NBA.  I was 20 years old then, and I've never followed another single athlete since.

I wish Perk well...  I was not, and am still not, a fan of his game.  Maybe he's a great guy, but I'm probably in the minority that could care less about what kind of family man he is or what kind of community involvement he has.  He is a professional athlete who is under contract to play basketball, first and foremost.  If not here, then somewhere else.

Maybe this sounds cold-hearted, but it's how I roll...

I hope the OP can find some personal solace and that you still follow Perk's career, if that is what you desire.  Your post is lauded for its honesty...

I'm very excited about the rest of this season, and I'm putting the funeral on hold... :)

these threads will look silly in a couple years.

I love perk as much as the next guy, but he's not that great.  Solid role player.  We got some real talent for him.

I dont really agree with people who think he was a key piece.   Would we have won game 7 with him?  Probably... Probably could have won it without him if not for some bad luck... probably could have won it with anyone capable of getting a rebound.

Everyone should just get over it.  We'll replace him with some other big stiff who can rotate.

I like the sentimentality of Bill's quote, but not its truth.  Most, if not all, of us would rather win another championship this year.

second.  and I suspect "Bill's Dad" is really a room full of underpaid former English majors...
Celtics fan for life.

I could see a scenario where we still would've lost to LA - even with Perk.

Reason?

Joey Crawford.

Thanks, Joey.

Sorry, CBers - I still haven't gotten over 37-17.
