The Celtics are closely monitoring the waiver wire, as Danny Ainge has several additional moves he would like to make before he considers his team's restructure complete.

Boston is interested in Troy Murphy, Dan Gadzuric and Jason Kapono should they be waived, according to sources.

"Our team is still not whole,” said Ainge. "We started out great. We played great basketball with Shaq (O’Neal) in the middle. I think it’ll be easier for Shaq to return in a starting position, which I think he has earned with his play this year."

I would have to imagine Gadzuric is the backup plan to murphy, but i don't think he offers anything.
Hopefully we end up with

powe
murphy
kapono

Not interested in gadzuric at all I would rather have pryzbilla because he grabs boards, and why do we need Kapono I would rather have a point guard

He's not planning on signing all those guys to fill our remaining roster spots. We'll probably just take 1 of those 3 and that's it.

Yeah I dont understand this either...

And why Kapono? If we were going to sign Kapono why trade Perk in the first place. We already got our back up three... I'd rather sign Mike Bibby if hes bought out then Jason Kapono or Leon Powe.

the 15th man on the roster won't be playing in the playoffs anyways , why not sign a guy who already knows the system and would be a big chemistry boost to the team after losing Perk? Plus in case BBD goes down Powe could split time with green replacing BBD mins and not have to worry about him being out of position on D

Just sign Derrick Brown (good value going forward, he's Jeff Green with more defense and less offense), a 3rd string point-guard and keep Chris Johnson for the time being. If Murphy is waived, sign him. Or sign Powe. No reason to overthink this.

No, not so much. Very poor in man-to-man D and weak on team defense also.

There is the odd flash of ... usefulness ... where has a short stretch of games where he plays decent (close to average) defense and rebounds the ball well ... but they are always short lived and always followed up a lengthily series of awful performances.

Overall, he is lousy player who is highly inconsistent and is all too often ... awful.

Gadzuric used to hurt the C's pretty much every time we played against him--I believe he was on the Bucks at the time. He reminds me of Varejao, just survived by bringing lots of energy, but I haven't heard squat from him in a couple years...
