When is the last time we had the cap space to sign a top-tier free agent?

Why would Dwight Howard or ANYONE for that matter, NOT want to play with a Pass-First Point Guard like Rajon Rondo?
I'm sure he would. Thing is, Boston's not the only team that's got one of those.

Thing is, they're the only team that's got the best one of those.

This, but I will add to that. We are the only team with the best pass-first PG in the league WITH the cap space in 2012 to sign him.

We don't know that for sure right now. What happens to the Hornets? What happens to CP?

Chris Paul is not a pass first PG. He is a great passer along with a great shooter, but he needs his shots.

I'll salute Danny without knowing the season's outcome.  He's got ice water in his veins, which is what you need in times like this.  In any business you want an executive who can and will make decisions with the imperfect information which is all that is ever available.  Not all those decisions will totally pan out, but you want that kind of exec anyway.

Pass first or not, something tells me Dwight would choose to play with Paul over Rondo.

As for handing out the accolades for Danny Ainge, I think that should wait until the end of the season to see where the Celtics end u p.

So we need to wait to see how the trade works out to praise Danny, but we don't need to wait to see how the trade works out to claim the Celtics season is over and call for Danny to be fired?

Don't you know how it goes around here? You must always wait to be optimistic, and must never wait to be pessimistic!  :D

I would just like to say, I hope howard never becomes a Celtic. I don't care what kind of stats he puts up. As a person he's not Celtic material. He's a self-absorbed brat who throws tantrums. He's a hulking giant with the attitude of a little girl who whines about people hitting him while he deliberately elbows and tries to injure players who dare to defend him. He's pampered and he's not smart. He goes against the majority of what the Celtics stand for and he would ruin the team.
