Perk is gone for good from us, if he stays healthy.

If he is healthy for the remainder of the year, teams with space like OKC and Houston will pay him way more than we or the Heat can pay him (the MLE is all, I believe we and the Heat can pay him given the current CBA).

Perk has taken a gamble, however, in not accepting the max offer we were capable of offering for an extension. The gamble is "what if he gets re-injured", and now his value diminishes tremendously.

While I am in the minority (seems 2/1 against the trade) and am very much for the trade, I admire and respect Perk and only wish him the best of health. That is the key to whether his gamble will pay off.

Good Luck, Big Guy.

One last thing, when we win a ring this year, you know that you will get one. I know deep down you will be rooting for us unless we meet you in the Finals. Then you get a ring either way, Huh?

He'll chase the money.

He'd be leaving too much on the table for himself by taking the MLE from Boston (if it was even offered to him).

It's a business, first & foremost.

And given the fact that Danny may be looking to clear room for 2012, would Danny even offer Perk a long MLE deal?

I'm not so sure.

No way he's in green next year.

Down the road, who knows?  Who would've thought we would've traded back for Antoine Walker or seen West and Green in green after they were traded for Ray in 2008.

He is not coming back.   I think it was the last injury in an injury filled career for Danny.   Perk has gave us some good minutes though but recurring knee injuries isn't good.
