Currently we don't have the players to go small, for example we had to put Daniels in to cover Matt Bonner against SA.

Green gives us more options, besides as far as rebounding goes we already do it with BBD at C....

i think hes very serious about kg at the 5.

somebody had quotes from ainge in another thread. but basically they wanna have a lineup similar to the 08 run where posey played the 4 and kg played the 5. they wanna bring that back. in certain matchups that could work out well. and then in others, we need more size, we could play bbd instead of green.

This is what they won the championship with in 2008, so I don't see why this would be a problem.  They wouldn't do it all the time, but it is a great advantage to be able to go to that option.

He's a lot like Gasol in that he can play C at a high level, but is at his best when playing PF.

There are only a few match ups where I don't feel good about KG playing C. (Bynum/Howard namely)

The Celtics have a lot more options now for lineups to finish games with the Big Four.  They've had BBD in there a lot.  They can now put in Jeff Green for a small ball lineup.  They have Krstic if they want a traditional 7-foot center who doesn't kill the offense the way Perkins might.  And they might even have the option of Jermaine O'Neal.

Really, if you are concerned about how this trade affects team chemistry, you might wonder if BBD will sulk if he sees a reduced role in the fourth quarter.

That's because KG knows at his age he can not man the middle. His body can not take it. If we want him injured and/or limping into the playoffs by all means do it.

Putting KG at the five not only could work, it could be great.  For example, we'd have no problem matching with with Mia putting KG at the 5.  Green could guard Bosh without a problem.  This would be an awfully good offensive team that wouldn't drop off much defensively.  It would make up witdth with quickness.

We went to this lineup with Posey at the 4 on a regular basis, including closing out games, during the Championship run and it was widly successful.  Rondo is at his best with an open lane and being able to stretch the floor.  We even played Posey a full 10 MPG more than Perk during the series against the dreaded Lakers bigs.  News flash, THEY'RE SOFT!  Green is a little bigger and more athletic than Posey, too, so it's a small lineup that's actually larger than our small lineups that were successful in the past.  I don't think this is a joke at all.
