after hearing what PP and KG said, I do believe
this trade was a mistake.
Their thoughts should have been considered, and
Perk could have been forewarned before the deal was inked.
Maybe Perk would have come to an agreement to avoid
free agency.
We don't know nearly as much about what makes this team
click as the team itself does.
This is not an easy time to be a Celtic player or fan.
I have been a defender of the deal, but I won't defend
it after hearing this.

You're too gullible.

Was Pierce crying when they sent Wally and Jefferson away? I remember him being in a press conference all smiles.

They lost a brother and are clearly emotional about the deal.  I think we wait until we fill the spots until we judge the trade.   But I think many here over value our guys.  I think the talking heads too over reacted on it as well.  All you need to be a defender is desire, folks.

Perk was not an all star.  He didn't contain Dwight Howard most times we played them in all honesty.  He didn't stop Bynum either.  He did play solid D though and was decent and servicable.  But he didn't rip down 16 boards a game or block five shots a game and he didn't score that much.  I heard Danny say that Shaq was better with our starters.   I also, knew this from the get go.  We had a great without Perk this year and he was expendable.  We need to sign another big but I think we will be ok.   Its not too hard to replace a 8 RPG game either.  I think Camby if we are lucky or Dalembert would make you forget KP really quick.

I going out on a limb but I predict his D suffers without KG on him and helping him.

I would hope they get over it quickly. The Boston Celtics is a business not a Social Club. Perk has a knee problem and a shoulder problem and he wants big bucks. So long Perk. Wish you well in future endeavors. Good center, not great. I trust DA to do what's best for the team not a bunch of amateur fans. He owe's us nothing. We owe him everything.

The one thing that every opposing player (Wade, Howard, Lebron, etc.) talked about in regard to the Celtics was our cohesion/chemistry.  I think there's something to that, which is why the reaction around the league is that we made a mistake here.
So did you and the rest of the league only watch the 12 games that Perk played in this year?

on court chemistry with Shaq was off the charts, especially with Rondo and KG

exactly! Why can't a guy like Green step in and have great chemistry--he will be the 5th best player on our team.

I think that's the hope around the league, just wishful thinking on their part.

Honestly, I'm not sure he'd rank that low any more.  No disrespect to the other guys, but I don't think the case is that clear.

I disagree with Pierce on this point:

"It doesn't matter what type of talent you bring in or what type of talent you have on your ball club; people underrate what chemistry brings."

Talent absolutely does matter.

I agree with him. You can have all the talent in the world and still lose if the guys don't get along and play int her right system.
I'm not saying that these guys can't fit in and work all this out. But I think what Danny did was a big risk and I'm not sure it was one that needed to be taken.

Guess the only problem is, Shaq really isn't on the court enough.

True but I agree with Paul, you don't mess with your chemistry unless it's for a big enough upgrade in talent.  We definitely could have managed with a small simple move for a backup SF rather than trading away part of a starting lineup that's never lost a playoff series.

We're gonna win the title with SIZE.  That's why everyone thinks this trade was genius for OKC.  Gambling on Shaq and JO is a riskier move than we needed to make.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I can't agree with that. Without us he's just a guy in charge of other guys putting a ball in a net.
