$28-32 million over 4 years.

$28 would have been my limit. I have a feeling that was around Danny's too. Perk will fetch more, and good for him, although I don't think he's worth it.

No more than 7.5-8 million a year.

I'm going to go with $28 mil because you cannot overpay for marginal players or you end up like the Washington Wizards or Detroit Pistons.  Sadly loyalty doesn't win championships.

And for anyone that thinks that Danny isn't trying to win this year they are crazy.  If that was the case then Danny would have also tried to move Davis because he is in a similar situation and will probably be overpaid in the offseason.  The reason he didn't move Davis is because he has played an integral part all season long and there is nobody on the roster that can replace him.  I'm not saying Perk is easily replaced but there is a higher likelihood with two injured centers coming back.

The trade that is really odd for me is the Cleveland trade because I think we could have gotten more for an up and coming center.  Should have got 2 second rounders if not a highly protected first.

The dollar amount isn't as important as the idea that giving Perkins a fourth year is probably a bad idea and that other teams are willing to overpay and give Perk that sort of contract.
