Per Washburn's Twitter. Did Danny know this was gonna happen? Does he end up back in Beantown?

Cavs just waived Leon Powe, opening up the possibility for a return to Boston #celtics

I don't see how Powe helps . He would be behind KG, BBD and Green at the PF. Unless Danny Plans on moving BBD to permanent backup C and keep Green as the backup SF. That would leave backup PF open for Powe.

I love Powe, but he wouldn't be my first choice.  He's too much of a question mark at this point.  I'd love to see him end up back in the Bay Area.

I haven't seen anything that makes me think Powe is back enough to be a rotation player anymore.

We need size at the C position.

Powe is not the answer sorry to say. He was good while he was here but he is NOT the same player he was. We need size so that we can not rely so much on Shaq and JO who have been injury off and on throughout the year.

I think he's done for now. Needs a lot of work on those knees to be useful again, and besides, though he rebounds well, we don't really need PF's that are undersized, I think we would want guys 6'10+ at center to fill out the roster.

Sean Williams???

I don't hate the idea, but Baby and Green can both play the 4, so the much bigger need is the 5.

Still, if he's the new Luke Harangody, I wouldn't be upset.

I think many here over value Leon.  Guy plays hard but he could not even crack the CLE lineup.  I expect a better player to be picked up on the buyout frenzy.

Exactly. I mean the Cavs would have just about given minutes to anyone to anyone who could play well and Powe was a spectator. If Powe played well in pratice and showed Coach Scott something then he would have got minutes... and he didn't... pass on Powe. I wish him the best of luck in the NBA and do hope a team signs him but just not the Cs.

Sorry...just wishful thinking.  I'd like to see him play, but like the C's, don't want to pay top dollar to do it.

I also think he could use a stint in the DL to show he still has it for extended minutes.  And he might actually be a sell in Maine considering the past connection to the C's.
