Absolutely not...defense was the C's calling card and it just got worse. Imagine if the C's have to play Dwight Howard now? I don't blame the vets for being p---ed. They know their chance to win a title this year just went out the window.

Dwight Howard isn't going to beat the C's by himself , the Magic don't have another all-star on the roster . C's still have Shaq and BBD who they can throw on Dwight, he can't move either of those guys in the low post.

Olus I have to believe Danny is going to bring in another defensive big man along and hopefully JO can give us 5-10 mins in the playoffs

It depends.  There are 26 games left.  Is that enough time to work in Green, Krstic, a returning J.O., and three buyouts?  If so, we can be okay, but that's not a lot of time to teach 5+ guys our system.

This. Nate and Finley had both said that Celtics' system is complex and takes a lot of time to learn.

With Green in the fold at that 4 spot is it safe to say if we do not get it done this year, KG is for sure gone and we go straight into rebuild mode?

boston has won many games without perkins...i have no doubt they will be the last team standing. they match up better now with the heat...which is the challenge.
How so??

not trying to stir up arguments just curious w/ Perk there in the middle his overall defense/help defense is what keeps the Wades and LeBrons out the middle and Dwight and Bynum from taking advantage of us....they will have a field day with Kristic or Murphy makes no sense to me

We are done we traded away K-Perk the best defensive center in the league. Its gonna come a point when we all are going to look back at this trade and say [dang].

If the O'Neal Brothers, along with the rest of the team, is healthy, yes, without a doubt. If not...

Of course we can win Banner 18... all we have to do is get everyone together... head to Michaels or any art store... buy a HUGE cloth and A LOT of green thread and start sewing it up... oooohhhhh you mean the REAL banner... yeah idk. lol.

Honestly have to see what other moves are made via buy outs and maybe some d-league call ups.

A lineup of:

Rondo/West
Allen/Wafer
Pierce/Green
KG/BBD
Shaq/JO/Kristic/*Bought-out Big*

is DEFINITELY good enough to beat anyone and everyone.

The question now is will we have these 12 available come April?

Kendrick Perkins help defense is most definitely not what keeps the Wades and LeBrons out of the paint. Kendrick Perkins size keeps them out of the paint and Shaquille O'Neal is bigger.

Where this hurts us is the man to man defense against other teams bigs.

Hell no.  Jesus Christ, I can't believe Danny would slap our veteran players in the face like this

If the O'Neal Brothers, along with the rest of the team, is healthy, yes, without a doubt. If not...

Our Russian Roulette rotation of injury-prone centers lost a few chambers, but we're not done playing.

If we can add a good big man (Troy Murphy, Joel P) out of the buyout pool, our big situation should be as good as it was before.  Meanwhile we've dramatically improved our back-up 3 from nobody to Jeff Green.

Roy the voice of reason. This is the point. We can't integrate them properly into our defensive systems which will be changing with the player movement.

I was so [dang] excited for the playoff run, too.

I agree, the only concern for me is missing a real big to beef down low with the likes of Dwight. So hope the O'Neal Brothers are 100% come playoff time.
Anything is possible!!!
