Size won't be a problem with the Celtics.

Garnett
Baby
ShaQ
Nenad
Semih
Jermaine (Healthy)
Sheed (why not)

Jeff Green versatility off the bench will be huge. He is big enough to play some stretch 4 and can guard 3.

At first I wasn't a fan, but come to think about it Celtics win. Ainge calculated Perkins wasn't going to re-sign. His asking price was higher than what the Celtics were willing to pay. You add scoring off the bench and keep size advantage.

It's a weird trade because it's a trade about the post-Big 3 era, not about this year.

Jeff Green is a good player, probably better than Perk (hard to do a direct comparison), but certainly better than watching Perk walk this offseason.

But, Green is a starting-caliber player, and there aren't THAT many minutes to be had.  His abilities, this season, will be underutilized just because he won't be on the floor that much.

Perk, though...  downgrading from Perk to the Injury Twins or Troy Murphy or 'Sheed, that's a huge downgrade - huge.  Hurts us this year.

i am very excited about this deal...jeff green? are you kidding? he is going to make life tough on the heat. and i am not worried about orlando at all. boston just got younger and more athletic..and NATE is GONE

I agree too with this one.
Even if i hanohing against nate
a rotation of green is great if we can keep
big bodies available.

We have some young company to rondo and
Delonte is back
theyre resting old legs to be ready and probably all is part
of an already done deal with Murphy as some pointed

So i will not worrie
I think Dannys hands are good hands

1. I don´t like Green

2. I like Krstic even less.

3. Considering that we probably would´ve overpaid for Perkins anyway (if we could re-sign him), and that there´s a new CBA on the horizon, this trade seems to make sense, if we´re talking long-term.

4. Not even a first-round pick, Danny?

EDIT: 5. I`ve read celticinorlando´s post after I made this one

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Lakers, Heat, and Orlando must be having a ****ing ball right now seeing this.
Lakers aren't getting out of Round 2 if they play OKC thanks to this.

Ainge must have really felt that Perkins was never going to re-sign with you guys, and/or be much too expensive. It could have been worse...Perk to Miami.

I think this trade makes us weaker. I absolutely do not like our center position anymore. It is like we have the same lineup of has-beens and nobodies that Miami has at center. I think this weakens the team's chances to win 18 this year.

What are the contract situations for Green and Kristic?  Are they on the books post-2012?
