Again, I think it's fair to give Kerr another season with this Shaq trade. If NOTHING else he's a great body to run picks around, if they had one more good, perimeter player I think they could compete. Who that player is, I haven't the least idea.

But I agree with the thought; keeping Marion was a bad thing. They wouldn't win this year, and then they would've lost him to free agency. Unfortunately Shaq might not've been the right replacement. But again, I still think it could work.

I too was a poster in pre-crash days so... mine was discussing names to add after the KG/Ray trades

In addition to Kurt Thomas, ....  Sam Cassell -- KG's boy from their Western Conf. finals run; and Kevin Ollie -- Ray Allen's boy from UConn days; will also be out there...

but yeah Ryan Gomes is the guy i hope we resign. (I also Dream of Delonte coming back... but that would be a looooong shot).

Eh, it's ok, but I'm much more interested in what that dynamic young go-getter Otart Srien had to say in his first post here.

Hello Fellow Celtics Fans!

I came across your message board today and am quite interested in this drafting of players. I was wondering if perhaps I, a simple n00b, could place a vote?

Cheers!

Here is mine not sure if it was my actual first or not but it's what came up:

that dickerson stern interview was one of the most awkward things i have ever seen. Has david stern ever been interviewed before. Dickerson just kept asking him questions, pretty simple and obvious questions and he was being uninformative, unfriendly, and completely clueless. I wanted to jam my finger in his eye when he made that comment about the appeal process and how he wasn't "buying" the blood sweat and tears symbol thing

Pretty auspicious start  :D

;)posted a reply to wrong thing...oops

My actual first post goes back a couple of incarnations of CB.  Something to do with the Celts re-acquiring Antoine from Atlanta.

Yup

While not the actual first, this is the earliest I have ... a reply to the ever-great "redzdeadbabyredzdead", (who we now all know and love as just "Redz"), on receiving my 100th TP, haha! ;)

Congrats to Bahku for 100 TPs!  Hope I haven't missed anyone...

Thank you very much ... I truly appreciate that! I've had a lot of fun here, and I must say, this blog has the most integrity of any blog I've seen ... and watching my expletives has been a good habit to get into! Thanks!

by the way, while I was looking up some details on the return on Toine, I came across the path Rajon Rondo (or more specifically his draft pick slot) took to get him to Boston.  I'd forgotten how circuitous it was.

August 6, 2004: Traded by the Los Angeles Lakers (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Rick Fox and Gary Payton to the Boston Celtics for Chucky Atkins, Jumaine Jones and Chris Mihm.

February 24, 2005: Traded by the Boston Celtics (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Tom Gugliotta, Gary Payton and Michael Stewart to the Atlanta Hawks for Antoine Walker.

August 19, 2005: Traded by the Atlanta Hawks (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Boris Diaw and a 2008 1st round draft pick (Robin Lopez) to the Phoenix Suns for Joe Johnson.

June 28, 2006: Drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round (21st pick) of the 2006 NBA Draft.

June 28, 2006: Traded by the Phoenix Suns with Brian Grant to the Boston Celtics for a 2007 1st round draft pick (Rudy Fernandez).
Yup

I think it was some default blogger message like "Hello world, this is my new blog!"

I just realized that my first post probably wasn't actually my first post. Bummer...

How did the database crash?

It was right after the 09 season and it was my thoughts on what we should do with our roster.  I suggested signing Birdman and Sheed.  One of them turned out.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

For some reason this survived from early times after that is about the Atlanta series but here goes:

CelticsBlog / Community / Re: Where are you from?    on: December 31, 2007, 01:06:28 am

Re: First Round Game 4 Boston Celtics @ Atlanta Hawks 4/28/08 (8:00 PM TNT, CSN)

is ray allen trying on defense?

LOL.  Joe Johnson put up 35 on us in that game 4 loss.

Wasn't my first post, it was 1,056 ago, but that's the earliest one I can view.

Pat myself on the back:  Looking back and reading my other posts from way back, I had some good foresight.  I predicted that Kyle Lowry and DJ Augustin would be good starting caliber PGs someday and mentioned in June '08 we should look into getting them (back when they were nobodies to most of the world).  Still like those guys a lot.
