If they didn't belong on the same court, why did our 4 best players have to play 142 minutes to beat them?

I love what he said. if you look at most of our losses, they came against bad teams, maybe this attitude will change that. I don't like it when the team drops games because of lack of effort

Couldn't disagree more.  This attitude is WHY they lose to bad teams.  You need to respect every opponent and play hard for 48 minutes, or until it's wrapped up.

Here is the YouTube link:

What's hilarious to me is Ray's dead serious face, and Delonte/Avery/Wafer/Nate really convinced. Nate even does the lil head twist you see boxers do before a fight LOL

And oh yeah Rondo is holding in a laugh he thinks it's funny  :P

Did he really say this?? Is there a link?   :o

I hope its not true. I don't like this attitude. One thing to be cocky and confident, but its another thing to be an a**hole. Unnecessary and if we would have lost, the backlash would have been huge.

No reason for a team whose gotten beaten by the Cavaliers and the Wizards and the Raptors to even utter such nonsense. Yes we're elite but we're not unbeatable.

You and I may be the only ones on this board that don't love it.  Everyone else seems to be cheering him on.  I wonder if we've become a nation of jerks.

LOL really? we're a nation of jerks now because we approve of how Ray's getting our team fired up. It's called lighting a fire under their butt jeeeeze. They blew them out so clearly it didn't hurt them

"That team doesent belong on the same floor as us."

See guys I knew even "Classy" Ray Allen had that cocky attitude that the rest of the team has.

Good thing they backed it up tonight, if the C's had lost Ray Allen would be getting blasted all over the net.
I see a bigger problem here. It wasn't Garnett, Rondo nor Pierce who said that. Ray had to take it onto himself. It sounds to me like Rondo's not trying to lead the team (yes, he's never done that verbally, but he's bound to start sooner or later, sooner being better), Garnett was expected to do that and isn't, and Pierce looks uninterested again. Sounds like Ray got PO-ed and all he usually keeps inside as a dignified and noble great player, just burst out of him.
Of course he's cocky. Experienced players like him and Garnett know where each player and each team belongs to.

Talk about reading a little too much in a quote.

THANK YOU. I was bout to reach into the screen and smack him for such silliness.

This is WHY they lose to bad teams? So that's why they blew them out by 22 points? I doubt saying something in a huddle for 4 seconds can determine the outcome of the game. I think some of you fans think you know the team better than you do. None of us are out there with them and can claim to know how pregame huddles affect whether they lose or win games from behind our computer screens.

I'm okay with what he said, I'm sure that type of talk is often used during pre-game rituals, but that shouldn't been recorded and used in the game highlights. Cameras are everywhere and that's wrong, that was a team peep talk, and a lot of people like barefacedmonk and grandtheftrondo take it seriously

Huh?? What gave you that idea? I loved it...especially coming from Ray Allen. Nothing that a Celtics player says will ever disappoint me...well, almost anything...I guess I'm one of those kool-aid drinkers/homer etc. but I don't care.

People will go to great lengths to find things to criticize. I'm just thankful that it was Ray and not KG talking, as the ensuing firestorm would have drowned out any trade talk.

Talk about taking a quote without giving context and leading people on OP.

I can't count the number of times I have head coaches, players, owners, etc. say something bad about the other team to get their team fired up in a pre-game speech. If you played any kind of sport at all, you would know this.

Don't care if it was 22 or 2 points.  Why play the starters that many minutes against an inferior team?

You're acting like they played 45 minutes each. They're coming off a long break.

YAY! Lets keep pretending like we don't have any injuries or anything.

Because they didn't start playing defense until the 4th quarter.  Do you prefer it when our guys start really playing in the 2nd, build a 20 point lead, and then let the worser/younger/more energetic team get their momentum after the break?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Care to explain?
The silliness, not idiotic attempt to prove you're a guy. What makes you think your hand would ever reach its supposed destination?
