"That team doesent belong on the same floor as us."

See guys I knew even "Classy" Ray Allen had that cocky attitude that the rest of the team has.

Good thing they backed it up tonight, if the C's had lost Ray Allen would be getting blasted all over the net.

Loved it. They need this attitude against inferior teams.

Did he really say this?? Is there a link?   :o

I hope its not true. I don't like this attitude. One thing to be cocky and confident, but its another thing to be an a**hole. Unnecessary and if we would have lost, the backlash would have been huge.

No reason for a team whose gotten beaten by the Cavaliers and the Wizards and the Raptors to even utter such nonsense. Yes we're elite but we're not unbeatable.

It's a pep talk for crying out loud and another incident that got magnified by the cameras. Pretty sure much worse have been said by opposing teams to rally their troops against us.

Rather have our team go in with the alpha dog mentality than anything else. They're not in there to make friends. ;)

I'm okay with what he said, I'm sure that type of talk is often used during pre-game rituals, but that shouldn't been recorded and used in the game highlights. Cameras are everywhere and that's wrong, that was a team peep talk, and a lot of people like barefacedmonk and grandtheftrondo take it seriously

I wouldn't be surprised if this was said, (by Ray), rather tongue-in-cheek, or even jokingly. So much today is taken out of context, but even if not, I have no problem with it, as trash-talking is today's norm in every sport imaginable, and Ray is one of the last guys to do so.

I love what he said. if you look at most of our losses, they came against bad teams, maybe this attitude will change that. I don't like it when the team drops games because of lack of effort

"That team doesent belong on the same floor as us."

And you can file this short story in the "non-fiction" section.

I'm fine with it, but it's funny how selective we are when it comes to something like this.  I remember when Baby said something similar about another team (Miami, I think) and most were telling him to shut up. Even when Paul says stuff, people say something like, "Ray has class and would never say stuff like that." All of a sudden, people like that attitude. LOL

You and I may be the only ones on this board that don't love it.  Everyone else seems to be cheering him on.  I wonder if we've become a nation of jerks.
