Chris Broussard says on twitter that we also inquired about Corey Brewer before he was dealt to the Knicks.  In other words, we've asked about every wing that might even possibly be available.

Should I check my messages?  Freakin' cell phones...bad service.

It looks like Danny's shaking all the trees in the forest right now.  Hard.  And he needs to.  It's looking more and more like his gambles on the always-questionable health of talented players with persistent health problems/history(e.g. Quisy, JO, West, Shaq) might not pay off.  I'm not sure there was a better way to go about it, but it looks like he needs to make a move.

Are we going to land any SF? It seems like our offers aren't drawing much interest.

My preferences;

1) Howard
2) Rip
Both are pretty close, Id take either. Like Howard because he gives us some good athleticism. Like Rip because of his veteran presence and scoring ability.

3) Battier
4) Moon

However, Its going to be really hard to get any of these guys. I'm hoping Danny is able to work some nice magic, because he is sure gonna need it.

No ones offers are drawing much at this point.  Most of the deals don't go down until the last minute...particularly smaller deals like the ones the C's are looking for.  Teams are still holding out for more, or trying to use these guys in bigger deals.  Most of these guys won't be moved until Thursday.

The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of JHoward over Battier. One crazy stat I remember of him from Dallas was his PPG in the 1st half of games. Seemed that he would put up all his points then, and disappear in the 2nd half. Perfect for us now. Pierce starts, sub in JHoward after 3-4 minutes. Pierce closes the game for us.

JHoward had his sweet spots between 10-15 ft with the occasional 3. He's long and gambling defender like Rondo, and can handle the ball. I'd trade Quis and a pick for Howard

Anyway we could land this?
Howard and Hinrich for JO(bought out/resigns)Nate,Bradley and 2 future 1st rounders?

Value wise I think it's fair. Howard isn't in their future plans. Neither is Hinrich. Saves them money and they can pick the draft picks 2-3 years from now post Big 3 era. And Nate could be a spark behind Wall. Bradley nice young project. We resign JO and make the playoffs with a full healthy roster

Rondo/Hinrich/West
Ray/Wafer/Quis
Pierce/Howard/Gody
KG/BBD/JO
Perk/Shaq/Semih
Can't stop, Rondo!

Shane Battier just got asked about the C's rumored interest, laughed it off.

I wish it was a realistic possibility.

  • Rondo = Good
My guess is we don't make any trade and we pick up some guy off the waiver wire.

I know he's not REALLY a wing, but RealGM is reporting that a trade between NJ and GS is almost complete involving Troy Murphy.  The report says he will be bought out.  What are you guys' thoughts on adding Murph?  I am on the fence - good offensive player - not so much defensively.  Not sure he fits a role here...

from Sherod Blakely's comments during the game tonight, it sounds like Parker is unlikely, but Dhantey Jones may be the guy we get to back up Pierce. I would be happy with that as long as we don't give up much.
